Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Malcolm Butler: SB LII and 'a Perfect Storm of Issues'
All I know is that Patriot Nation are questioning this move and believe it was based on vindicatedness rather than a football move. And they are pissed.
BB wanted to humiliate Malcolm Butler and he succeeded. Humiliation and shame are two of the worst emotions any of us feels. They prevents us from telling the truth.
Vindication? haha.
And yes. You can see the tears on Butler's eyes and know that he felt lower than a beaten dog. It must have torn him apart watching Rowe get burned over and over by Alshon Jeffrey and then have to watch a safety play CB because he wasn't in the game. BB didn't just punish Malcolm Butler, he punished the entire team. Those other 52 members deserve an answer from Belichick.

The reason I believe that it was humiliation over rules is that he allowed him to dress. If you don't plan on using him then it's simple deactivate him and dress someone who can help, but to waste one of the 45 spots on a player you're going to make stand there for the entire game (outside of the opening kickoff) then there's more to it than that.

Agreed. It was totally personal. BB wanted to humiliate Butler.
But it wasn't the only wrong move by BB this year. Cleveland offered a 1st pick for Garrapollo and BB didn't take the call.
I understand maintain order and set examples but the problem with not playing someone at the Super Bowl is not only is the player being punished but the entire team is being punished. They are at the Super Bowl and the point of the whole season and all that work was to win the Super Bowl!
Now if it was performance related due to illness or practice that I understand.
Patriots' Malcolm Butler refutes rumors for Super Bowl benching in social media post
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler took to social media on Tuesday to refute rumors of possible reasons he didn't play on defense in Super Bowl LII.
Meanwhile, sources tell ESPN that it was known within parts of the team in the days leading up to the 41-33 loss to Philadelphia that Butler's role would at least be diminished.
"During my four year career [with] the Patriots I have always given it everything I have to play at a high level, and would never do anything to hurt my teams' chances of winning a game, including this year's Super Bowl where I visited with my family every night," he wrote. "During Super Bowl week I never attended any concert, missed curfew, or participated [in] any of the ridiculous activities being reported. They are not only false, but hurtful, to me and my family.
"Although I wish I could have contributed more to help my team win, I have to get ready for the next opportunity. Moving forward I will do what I have always done to work hard, and prepare for next season to be the best I can be on and off the field."
Butler is an unrestricted free agent.
The Patriots' decision not to play him in Super Bowl LII was puzzling, considering he had played in 97.8 percent of the defensive snaps in the regular season. But while the decision was a major surprise to outsiders, it wasn't a shock to one high-ranking member of the organization who told ESPN that he was aware Butler wouldn't play a major role at least a day or two before the game.
That was consistent with what two of the team's captains said after the game -- that they knew Butler wasn't going to be a significant part of the game plan.
Why that was the case remains unknown, although one person who was at each of the team's practices leading up to the Super Bowl relayed that Butler struggled with what the Patriots were asking him to do against the Eagles' complex scheme. Couple those struggles with a regular season that Butler admitted wasn't his best, and it might have been part of coach Bill Belichick's decision-making process.
In Butler's tweet, he also thanked Patriots ownership and the team's coaches for the opportunity to "play for one of the most successful organizations in sports." He also thanked his teammates, writing, "We have won a lot of games together, and all I know is winning!"
Several Patriots players have liked and/or commented on Butler's Instagram post, including quarterback Tom Brady, who wrote, "Love you Malcolm. You are an incredible player and teammate and friend. Always!!!!!!"

Sounds like they benched the wrong person. Substitute Matt Patricia for Malcolm Butler and that entire paragraph makes much more sense.
And the drama continues in NE. Brady and Gronk have told the team they are not participating in OTA's or any offseason activities. 😳
And have you heard the Amendola interview? Scathing. He said that BB doesn't pay his players, even after they gave a team friendly contract for years, that BB is an (blank) and that many of the players were pissed off that Malcolm Butler didn't play in the SB.
They've been upset that BB had no explanation for his decision about Butler, or not paying players and they've had it.
Can you believe Brady, Gronk and possibly other players are not taking pay cuts anymore and are not showing up to practice?
Still, gonna be nothing...Brady missing ota is normal...he is vacationing with his family.,l I don’t know about gronk...
Amendola is sour grapes...
The NE wheel will keep turning this year as we hope they are Falling apart at the seams
Amendola is not sour grapes. He's never talked to the media before. EVER. He's never said a word before and now he is. Brady and Gronk missing OTA's because they're pissed about Alex Gurerro is not normal..He's missed OTA's for health reasons but not because he's pissed that BB forbid Guerrero to be on campus.
Not only that, Brady said he's not going to participate in any off season activities, per Jeff Darlington. That is not normal.
They'll win their division only because their division blows.
Yes, their division will keep on turning and never will impact their play. But stop acting like there's no issue going on there when there is.
You act like there's nothing going on in NE. Sorry, you're wrong. They are imploding internally. There's so much tension between Brady, BB, Gronk and Kraft. Might not reflect their on field game but it's certainly impacting off the field issues.
I live in Boston and it's being played out all over the place. And the Boston sports media is reporting it day in and day out. The fans and the media have not stopped talking about this for days.
