Thursday Night Football

Excuse my ignorance but I can never see the point of the Thursday night game. Moving the game to either a Friday or Saturday night seems to make much more sense to me. Would the league ever give any consideration to switching ? If I lived in the States, the thought of watching the Broncos in a bar, with couple of mates drinking beer seems like heaven !

Friday night would be better. Saturday night would be bad until later in the season as it would have to compete with College football which would be bad for NFL ratings.

No, the league wont give up on Thursday night games because it makes them too much money. Players hate it, as a fan.....I love it. Thursday is my night out ( pool league and golf league ) and it's a perfect combo paired with football.

What I hate are out of country games. London? No thank you....Mexico or China? Get out of here with that nonsense. The league is looking at that because of the money that could be made too but it takes away from the loyal fans here in the states

Friday nights is for High School football, I'm pretty sure the NFL will never step on those toes because that's the grassroots. And moving games to Saturday night would go head to head with the NCAA on their day, and I believe that if they did move to Saturday night it would actually violate their anti-trust exemption. I'm not positive on that, but I've heard that before. That's why the NFL starts Saturday night games in mid December when the NCAA is completely done with their regular season and conference championship games.

I like Thursday night games. I'm off fridays and Saturdays so Thursday being my Friday is an awesome way for my weekend to start. I will say that some of the games on Thursday are garbage.

Well if I lived in Europe the thought of watching the Broncos in a bar with a couple of mates on any day would also seem like heaven to me!

I remember hearing that there are legal reasons the NFL can’t play on Friday, at least not without getting it cleared by high school programs within a certain radius.

They’re not going to play on Saturday except for the last couple of weeks.

Exact thoughts, safety v/s Revenue $$$. But then again they keep raising the cost of a ticket and their are plenty who pay it.
