Quite the career, and will be the subject of many debates as to whether he should be in the HoF. I think he will, and probably should. IMO you can't tell the story of the NFL without Eli. Also the Tyree catch might be one of the most iconic plays of all time.

I like and respect Eli. Low key guy who played all those years in a hotbed - NYC. Not a great QB, but will never be forgotten for those 2 SB wins, and 2 SB MVPs. Plus 4 Pro Bowls and Walter Payton Man Of The Year.

No matter how they "grade" his career, HoF or not, he should be very proud of his achievements. One SB victory is huge. Two, against the Pats, and MVP in both, is in a very elite class.

Good quarterback, not great. Had elite moments, but was inconsistent. He'll probably get in the Hall of Fame someday, due to the stats he accumulated over his career, along with, two Super Bowl championships, but, just watching him play, I didn't see a Hall of Fame QB, especially, in this era of the league favoring the pass.

I have to disagree. He may cause its NY. He wouldn't if it was Denver . Maybe he is deserving of The Giants Ring of Honor for his great play in the two SB and bringing home the Lombardi, I would thnk so. But he got a bit of help on some wild catchts. Other than his SB years his play was very inconsistent imo.And he made a lot of mistakes. He was finally benched , but truly he should've been benched way before that. I don't think he should even be in the discussion of HOF.

That said, I don't consider 39 young for a qb. And considering his play and what has happened the past few years, I am very happy he made this decision. I don't think it would''ve ended up like his brother if he had gone to another team. I am very happy for him. Very glad he has 2 rings to bring to the table with his brother and both cand say they beat Brady along the way. Good Luck Eli, can't wait to see what is the next chapter brings you.

Most say he should be in, which is not a surprise as they always over-praise players to be 'nice' rather then honest. I agree with Sanders that being in the HOF is not the standard it once was.

He probably gets in at some point, his last name is Manning. Personally I can't believe he is even being considered for the HOF, has the standards slipped so much that being a 'good' QB is enough.

He had a .500 regular season career win total. In 9 of his last 11 years as a starter he did not even make the playoffs !! Yes he had 2 good SB's but so what ? Like one of them said if Foles picks up another SB during his career is he a HOF QB ? Plus I would argue the first SB run and win was all about the Giants DL rather then Eli, but he still did OK.

When I started watching the NFL around 2003 I just presumed that the HOF was for the elite of the elite, some of the best players to ever lace up and a true gold standard. Now we are at a point where Eli Manning, never a top 5 QB in the league at any point of his career, with a .500 record and missing the players most years, is being talked about as a HOF'mer. Good for Eli.

Always felt a bit bad for the guy - he's always been in the shadow of his big brother, one of the GOATs. And he's been in his shadow ever since he picked up a football as a toddler.

But he's also made a hell of a lot of money, AND he's won two super bowls.

Not bad Eli, not bad.

I give a lot of props to Eli for how he handled himself as a man and player. He definitely had a good career and I thank him for his time in the NFL.


As for the HoF....Eli Manning has a career 0.500 record and 2 Super Bowl rings. IMO when Jim Plunkett gets in the HoF, another QB with 2 Rings and a 0.500 record...then we can talk about Eli getting it. Pretty sure since Eli played for NY he will be getting in tho.
