Edwards made Madden look foolish. What would you do?

In the first half of lasts nights game the Jets had moved the ball to the Falcons 7 yard line, and were on 4th down with about a yard, yard, a half short of a first and goal situation. Madden says something stupid as usual about the first points being the hardest to get, so they gotta go for the FG. Herm instead goes for the first, gets it, and eventually scores the TD making Madden the fool. The Jets were down 20 before this, I think I would've done the same. How would you have played it?

Going for the FG wouldve said I surrender. Sometimes I think Madden just says ***** to hear his own voice.

I hate madden. This game has passed him by and his commentating just sucks. With his "heck why not" terminology. When your down by as many as the jets were, field goals do you no good. Whether they get the first or not, kudos to herm edwards for at least trying and realizing the 3 pointers werent going to make his team competitive when they trailed by that much.

Please don't compare Edwards to John Madden.

He's won a Superbowl and his winning percentage (.750) is the best of any head coach in NFL history.

Also, he's won 14 emmy's as an NFL analyst.

He's got his face on the most popular sport game series in history.

Only 11 players in the NFL have a larger salary than he does but none make more money overall. (Because of all of Madden's other endorsments, ect)

So, I guess that means he's doing something right.

good thing about madden

is that I have noticed over the years that he tends to make commentary towards the people who have lesser knowledge of football. Thats not a bad thing. Isn't madden calling its quits next year and theisman taking over? I'll file a complaint on that one right now
