  • Where are the best defenses in the NFL?

I'm sure you have always wondered that. Well, according to http://www.nfl.com/standings/ Just look for yourself.

Each division has allowed the following in points (as of Thanksgiving) :

    AFC East: 886 Points Allowed
    AFC North: 694 Points Allowed
    AFC South: 876 Points Allowed
    AFC West: 835 Points Allowed

    NFC East: 805 Points Allowed
    NFC North: 779 Points Allowed
    NFC South: 841 Points Allowed
    NFC West: 1045 Points Allowed

    There you have it.

In the AFC the divisions with the best defenses are: AFC North and AFC West
In the NFC the divisions with the best defenses are: NFC North and NFC East

Overall the top 5 divisions (defensive wise) are:

The AFC North - 694 (PIT, CLE, BAL, CIN )
The NFC North - 779 (CHI, MIN, DET, GB )
The NFC East - 805 (NYG, DAL, WAS, PHI )
The AFC West - 835 (DEN, KC, SD, OAK )
The NFC South - 841 (CAR, TB, ATL, NO )
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

    statistically, yeah.
but CLE and BAL cant score anyway, and no teams is going to open up there offense if they dont have to.
MIN, DET, CHI, and hell, even GB, struggle scoring, i like CHI, though. they are good.

its kinda misleading if you just look at the stats.

Defense is a dying breed in the nfl. Rule changes are taking away the dominant Ds. Used to be there would be 7 or 8 really good defenses. Now its down to 2 or 3.

          ...not by offense. Defense!!!

No-one will win a track meet with the Colts. But shutting down D has always and will continue to win. It has taken some adjustments to the new rules but I think it has helped. If you are a going to be a REAL CB you have do it in the first 5 yards. We are finding out that is just what the doctor ordered. Manning does'nt equal SB like everyone thought.

          Just ask Teddy Bruschi!!!
          This is the NFL!!

          Don't sing it... Bring It!!!!!

          Go Broncos!!!!!!!
