CB Law Interested In Miami ...
    2006-02-14

[Kansas City Star] Cornerback Ty Law said he expects the Jets to release him shortly after the Pro Bowl. In his one season in New York, Law led the NFL in interceptions with 10 and earned another Pro Bowl berth. He basically signed a one-year deal with the Jets because he had to prove he could recover from a 2005 foot injury.

If the Jets release him, what kind of guaranteed, bonus money is Law looking for from his new team?

“I’d say around $10 million,” he said. “There are a lot of teams interested. Miami is talking about getting Steve McNair down there, and if the Dolphins get a quarterback, they’re a real contender for the Super Bowl. That’s what it’s all about for me right now. I need to win another title.”

You need some help in that department. Is Madison a free agent this year?

He said he wont take a pay cut and that we have young corners who are ready to step up. He will be cut. TThe falcons and the Chiefs are interested right now.

McNair? Is there a rumor that he's going to the Fins?

I think losing their Offensive Cordinator is actually going to hurt Miami no matter who they get at QB.

i realize that no one can win every year-- but what makes you think the pats aren't the faves in their division next year? sure , their LB corps is getting old and the secondary is thin, but. . . look at all the talented players who are still in their prime or not even there yet-- vrabel, rosie colvin, wilfork, ty warren, hobbs, branch, ben watson. . . RICHARD SEYMOUR. . . TOM BRADY!!. . . etc, etc. . . and a pretty decent coach too. what makes you dismiss them so casually? miami is on the rise, no doubt-- but as much as i love air mcnair, i don't see how he makes them favorites over the pats even if they DO acquire him. . . miami's D is aging right along with NEs, and while i think saban is a good coach, he's hardly shown himself to be in belichik's league just yet. . .

I think they'll run them close but it's still a year too early for the Dolphins to win their division IMO. They need to sort out their QB situation before they can be serious challengers.

Jaws I respect your opinion but if you watched basically every play of every game you would know that Gus was not the reason we lost the close games...well not every close game. Our rookie star had some really costly fumbles in the red zone that I think caused us to lose two of the games. I know Gus isnt great but he is enough to get us in the playoffs. How far we go I cant say. I just hope that we draft a bright kid for the following season.

Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Randy McMichael, Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown, Chris Chambers. The Dolphins have some big name guys too and did go 9-7 last year. Not to mention, the Chiefs were the only team in the AFC West that could find a way to actually beat them.

It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.
