Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

you are right lady, your chiefs will indeed miss him, he was an under-rated part of your offense. . . . if gerald sowell starts, he isn't half the lead blocker richardson was-- better receiver maybe, but he won't open holes the way richardson did. . . . fullbacks get less and less credit every year, but what they do is still valuable-- ask shaun alexander or LT. . . .
I was upset when I heard that the Chiefs let him go...yes he is one of the best...
Vikings jumped right on that...
Welbournes personality showed in the way he left Philadelphia, and how he's behaved in Kansas City. His departure was felt in Philadelphia though as Artis was never on par with Welbourne.
A solid player none the less with a great contract which you don't like to loose but if theirs a team where the RT has a little room for error it's KC.
Welbourn was clearly a better guard than tackle in my opinion.

Probably but Robert Holcombe was good a FB in the past so hopefully he makes the team and plays. I dont know if we still have him i just know last year we did but he got hurt.
The Chiefs reached an injury settlement with Holcombe last pre-season. He has not been with the Chiefs for almost a year.

It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.
I don't think this is a big deal for the Chiefs. If it had been Roaf or Shields, that would be different. But Welbourn was never a key piece of their offensive line.
Precisely. I never liked the guy. First few games in 2004, he had too many false-start penalties that pissed me off and made me hate him forever. He had his moments, but he wasn't any sort of anchor or key piece in our offensive line.
In a way, i'm glad our offensive coordinator was the former offensive-line coach, makes me feel better about the run game and pass protection for the future. I can't knock Al Saunders though, the guy was an offensive genius (he had his moments too, but #1 offense in multiple years says something).
Sure, Roaf and Shields are close to retirement, but we have a guy that knows his material.
Edit: Regarding Tony Richardson - major bonehead move by Carl Peterson. Could've given him two years and saved a tad bit of money than to just offer him one year. I'm still irritated about that - it's the major weakness I see in our run-game now. T-Rich could've retired a Chief.

My thoughts exactly...bad moves by the Chiefs....good pick up for the Vikings...
