I wouldn't say they are the best. However, they are easily top 5. They are probably the most experienced duo but Chris Gamble and Ken Lucas are shaping up to be the best duo."And we all know that stats don't mean anything if you don't have the wins to back them up"-ChampWJ
It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.

perhaps, if this was about 4-6 years ago.

An underrated one is the Ronde Barber + Brian Kelly combination.
A top 5 one would also be McCallister + Rolle.
I'd say it would be:
1.McCallister + Rolle [Ravens]
2.Barber + Kelly [Buccaneers]
3.Lucas + Gamble [Panthers]
(first year together, lets let them have another year before top 2)
4.Surtain + Law [Chiefs]
5.Winfield + Smoot [Vikings]
Honorable Mention:
Sheppard + Brown [Eagles]
Bly + Bryant [Lions]
Up and coming ones include: (potential to be great)
Robinson + Buchanon [Texans]
Springs + Rogers [Redskins]
Mathis + B. Williams [Jaguars]
Bailey + D. Williams [Broncos]sigpic

They have arguably the best CB duo in the league now.
It should improve their pass defense significantly.
All the same, I don't consider them to be THE best. Just one of the best.
I agree with Carolina.
And, Baltimore is pretty good as well.
One thing is for sure, their top two corners are both good enough to be number one corners on a good number of teams, so they are better off than most teams as far as their corners go.My adopted fan is dogfish

The thing is though
Surtain is 30 and Law is 34
so this window of "elite CB duo" is only 2-3 years at best.
But ill agree that it is a top 5, i think theyll pull in a good bit of INT's and make alot of teams one dimensional on offense.
My Top 5
1. Carolina
2. Chicago
3. Jacksonville
4. Baltimore
5. Kansas City
One CB duo on the rise is ours. If Darrent can continue improving along with the best Corner in the league, we will break into the elite status, and be there for years to come. Our CB core has so much potential in it, that we should be set for a long time.Blet

Sure, I WANT us to win, but considering our record in KC, along with Jake's propensity to make mistakes when he's under pressure, I'm afraid that I will get something else.
Besides, my prediction was only that - a prediction.sigpic

Do you secretly hope he fails just to validate your position?
It certainly seems that way.

So any way guys....
(forget Jake, he's not part of the topic, this happens in every thread where the mtn_man makes a passing remark on Cutler or Jake, just ignore it_
Who do you think are the top 5 corner combos? Some people are saying the Chiefs aren't top 5, and maybe if we listed and laid out a few, we could see how they stand.
Mine are a few posts up.sigpic
