3. Baltimore- Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle
4. Philadelphia- Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard

7. Tampa Bay- Ronde Barber, Brian Kelly

11. Buffalo- Nate Clements, Terrence McGee
12. Green Bay- Al Harris, Charles Woodson

Those are the only teams I think are worthy of mention. There are teams (like the 2005 Chiefs) who have a good #1 but nobody opposite of him worthy of mention (like Detroit with Dre' Bly or Seattle with Marcus Trufant).

That is a post that I made on another messageboard. I know most of you won't agree with the Chiefs being so high but that's fine.

Everybody thinks that Surtain and Law being old makes them not good any more. I could say Rod Smith is too old to be good but that simply isn't true. It doesn't matter how old a player is if they continue to perform at a high level, and both Law and Surtain have continued to perform at a high level. The thing is, Ty Law was still injured all of last year when he had his career year in interceptions. He is now completely healthy and in alot better shape. Cornerbacks in a cover 2 don't have to be the fastest in the world and can get by with there physical play and intelligence, things that are both strengths of Surtain and Law.


On a side note, I think in a couple of years the best cornerback tandem is going to be DeAngelo Hall and Jimmy Williams.

You just said it yourself. After that ROOKIE season. Players have solid rookie seasons all the time but fail to improve after that. If you would base a players career off of his rookie season, Kendrell Bell would be a perennial pro bowler.

McCallister and Rolle are number one, easily. They're both (combined) relatively young and still in their prime (McCallister coming off a solid bounce-back season).

They are not all that young. Chris McAllister is 29 and Samari Rolle will turn 30 next month. You can't just say they are "easily" number one. They didn't have very good years last year and there are plenty of teams that could compete for the top spot (like Carolina).

Abraham by himself didn't provide a better pass rush, considering he had 10.5 sacks and Jared Allen had 11. And as a team, the Jets only had 30 sacks compared to the Chiefs' 29 sacks. I don't think the pass rush was all that different.

I think it does suck for us that they signed Ty Law.

Gunther Cunningham now gets to play mad scientist with his front 7 to generate a pass rush and stop the run.

I don't know about top honors, but on paper KC is up there.

Sorry, I just see Denver as a top 5 duo (yet). The young corners had a good year last year but it's too soon to say they are anywhere near the level of some of the better corners in the league. They have the talent but they need to show they can raise there game to a higher level and be consistent.
