KC top 5 CB duo? No, Law had a good season last year, but I don't expect the same.
My top 5:
Carolina
Tampa Bay
Philly
Jacksonville
Denver
For whoever said the Vikings Smoot and Winfield. Guess who didn't start after returning from injury? Fred Smoot. Guess who held his spot? Brian Williams, who is now a Jag.Leave a comment:

Yes!!!
Thank you for the token Jared Allen stat line.
Its been a while, nice to see that we could get it out of you.Leave a comment:

Gunther Cunningham now gets to play mad scientist with his front 7 to generate a pass rush and stop the run.
I don't know about top honors, but on paper KC is up there.Leave a comment:

1. Carolina- Ken Lucas, Chris Gamble
2. Kansas City- Patrick Surtain, Ty Law
3. Baltimore- Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle
4. Philadelphia- Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard
5. Denver- Champ Bailey, Darrent Williams
6. Dallas- Anthony Henry, Terence Newman
7. Tampa Bay- Ronde Barber, Brian Kelly
8. Washington- Shawn Springs, Carlos Rogers
9. Chicago- Charles Tillman, Nathan Vasher
10. Minnesota- Antoine Winfield, Fred Smoot
11. Buffalo- Nate Clements, Terrence McGee
12. Green Bay- Al Harris, Charles Woodson
13. Cincinnati- Deltha O'Neal, Tory James
Those are the only teams I think are worthy of mention. There are teams (like the 2005 Chiefs) who have a good #1 but nobody opposite of him worthy of mention (like Detroit with Dre' Bly or Seattle with Marcus Trufant).
Everybody thinks that Surtain and Law being old makes them not good any more. I could say Rod Smith is too old to be good but that simply isn't true. It doesn't matter how old a player is if they continue to perform at a high level, and both Law and Surtain have continued to perform at a high level. The thing is, Ty Law was still injured all of last year when he had his career year in interceptions. He is now completely healthy and in alot better shape. Cornerbacks in a cover 2 don't have to be the fastest in the world and can get by with there physical play and intelligence, things that are both strengths of Surtain and Law.
On a side note, I think in a couple of years the best cornerback tandem is going to be DeAngelo Hall and Jimmy Williams.Leave a comment:

so this window of "elite CB duo" is only 2-3 years at best.
But ill agree that it is a top 5, i think theyll pull in a good bit of INT's and make alot of teams one dimensional on offense.
My Top 5
1. Carolina
2. Chicago
3. Jacksonville
4. Baltimore
5. Kansas City
One CB duo on the rise is ours. If Darrent can continue improving along with the best Corner in the league, we will break into the elite status, and be there for years to come. Our CB core has so much potential in it, that we should be set for a long time.Leave a comment:

Wanna know something? Having the best Corners doesn't mean squat if you don't have good safeties...Leave a comment:

Originally posted by tommy1986Yep, Cincinnati. Those guys are ballhawks, and it's good to see Deltha O'Neal live up to his potential, even though it's not with my favorite team. Champ Bailey is a top 5 corner for sure but D-Will or Fox have more to prove before this CB tandem is considered elite.Leave a comment:
