The Broncos are not only consistently good, but also have a very inclusive and intense fan base that would be difficult to break out of.
My parents and brothers and most of my family are all Bronco fans. They dislike the fact that I am a Browns fan and do tease me about it often. But my cousin's husband - he's a Giants fan. My mother and father every time the Broncos play are like 'Hey, the Broncos are on - you gonna watch it with us?" My answer - no - unless of course they play the Browns. Naturally I'll watch that game. Though, i'm used to getting nervous come fourth quarter and even though the Browns may be winning - I get anxious and nervous - from experience and the history of our two teams.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

1999 was a bad year for broncos but I remained strong and supportive of the team I swore as my favorite team. A losing season was not going to disuade me.

The climax of being pulled back into the Broncos fan base was Super Bowl XXXV, the Ravens win. Of course I was happy with our win and there were some class fellows to look up to here as well. Ray Lewis, Jamal "the rookie" Lewis, Rod Woodson, Tony Siragusa, Sam Adams, Peter Boulware, etc etc. Hell Trent Dilfer was everyone's favorite QB then. Then the Ravens pulled a dumb move. Trading the superbowl winning QB. Classless. Stupid. Things like that, things like last year's break down during Detroit (Baltimore having all those penalties and fights with the Lions) are what make me support them like the Broncos. I still like them as my home town team, but they aren't to me what the Broncos are. Now a days, we are slowly and surely crawling on back to league superiority with Plummer and soon Cutler paving the way.

Such is how I became a Broncos fan and how I don't support the Jail birds, erm, Ravens the same way.
Hmmmm.....must have been a tough year when Shannon Sharpe was there...

      :offtopic:

I digress...anyways, must be a similar feeling now that MA and Pryce are there as well. That team for me is the Vikings, since my entire family likes them. It hasn't caused me as much of a problem since they are in different conferences. But had MN won that game against Atlanta and played Denver in the SB, I still would have been a Denver fan over them...
Go Broncos, make me keep believing this year

It's all good and I respect your right to cheer for whoever you want. Just seems weird to me. Hopefully the local Bronco fans aren't too harsh...I have the luxury of living near mediocre teams (Bears, Vikings) so I don't care if people give me crap. I made so much money in the Green Bay/Denver SB it was ridiculous...

must be weird since there is so much trade movement between our teams

Well, I have had a few run-ins. I am not afraid to show my Browns colors I usually get stares and they usually talk trash to me. Tomorrow school starts up again - sure enough I'll be sporting my favorite Browns cap

Truthfully, I really hate those trades and such. Sure Droughns panned out well. But honestly, I'd like some talent come in through the draft. Not free agency like him. Because he's already got a reputation as a Denver back. With the emergence of Jerome Harrison, Droughns will be seeing less carries this season. Hopefully they'll turn into another Byner/Mack.
