Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Once again the Patriots show how classless their organization is. You have to show your players some sort of respect, especially significant contributors and long-time stars. But they don't, they remain 100% business, whereas most people have dignity and respect, the Patriots are turds.
Sorry, you can not add yourself to your own ignore list.
Seahawks | Team still pushing for Branch
Fri, 1 Sep 2006 19:37:56 -0700
John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports even though the deadline to trade for him has passed, the Seattle Seahawks are still pursuing New England Patriots WR Deion Branch. A source in Seattle said the Seahawks believe they're very much in the mix and that the Patriots told them, "They're going to continue to pursue this thing." Sources say the Patriots have backed off requests for two first-round picks and would accept a first-round pick and a middle-round pick. Though the Seahawks didn't offer higher than a second-round pick, a source they said they would be willing to trade their first-round pick, which would likely be low in the draft anyway.
Darrell Jackson, Deion Branch, Bobby Engram and Nate Burleson at WR. Mack Strong at FB, Hasselback at QB and MVP Shaun Alexander at RB. Son of a ***** that'd be awesome. Add Jeramy Stevens at TE for a nice mix of extra play making and you got yourselves an explosive offense.
If he went there he'd be the sober Koren Robinson they wished they had. Well, now that Patriots get 2 first round picks (one of them being the one they currently had) and possibly a decent player. Sounds dangerous for any team to face the hawks.
Almost forgot.... Leonard Weaver, enough said. Put him with the rest of those guys.

They can play matchups 1 through 4 with that WR depth chart. Of course, this may be DJack insurance as well...he's got a bum knee and he's just now practicing.

Good point, Stevens is injured too so the Hawks might be trying to get an effective weapon to balance the attack pending the recovery of Jackson and Stevens.

It works both ways- Branch and his agent had not even bothered negotiating with the Pats since their original offer. They rejected it, and Branch continues to hold out.
The Pats made the only move to bring Branch back to the negotiating table - by allowing him to seek a trade, they determined what he'd be really willing to play for (which was less than he originally demanded of course). A player of Branch's value would come at a high price in a trade, if a team can't pony up the picks, then the Pats have no choice but to deny a trade.
You're right it is a business, and BOTH sides are all business on this one. Where is Branch's dignity and respect here? Why isn't he a "turd"?

Well, whichever way you want to look at it...the Pats actions have guaranteed that Branch will not show up until week 10. This won't force him back to the table...it will push him further away from it.
Patriotic dissent is a luxury of those protected by better men than they.
