  • Dennis Green should be fired

Despite bringing in all these additional pieces, Green has managed to make the Cardinals even worse than they were last year (1-5 versus 2-4 last year) and lost to the team that was the consensus "worst team in the NFL" in the Raiders.

Last week, he made the offensive coordinator his scapegoat despite his offense not being the problem. (Well, his offensive line is a problem but he's known that for a long time and yet it still sucks.) Looking at how his offense played yesterday, I'd say it's pretty obvious demoting the offensive coordinator did nothing positive for the team.

He's been given lots tools and yet Green just can't get the team to win. I think he got too much credit for Minnesota's success (although he couldn't get them to the Super Bowl) and he deserves a large portion of the blame for the Cards still sucking.

Then again, maybe I should be lenient considering the Cardinals are cursed.

(Or maybe I just can't forgive him for giving the Raiders their first win. )

ID give Green another year,to get things turned around. They have a lot of promising players over there. I agree,he should not have fired the offensive coordinator. It's not his fault, the right tackle can't block.

Nah if this keeps up his gone. One thing the owner hates is losing its his team and they want to give the players the best chance and Greens not it.

The Cardinals are like 10million under the cap cause the owner is a tight-ass with his money. Dennis Green could easily use that money to sign a key player on defense or for that horrid offensive line. I think the Cardinals could be 2-4 or even 3-3 if not for some unfortunate events.

I don't know. Green has brought the talent in and has made strides. Now you bring in a new coach... you bring in a new system.. and force Leinart to learn system already. It seems the BIGGEST problem in AZ is no stability. Every other year they bring in a new coach. I think that Green lost this last game against Oakland, but I know he's a good coach and now has that team on the BRINK of having a very successful team. Their OL needs help, and I don't think Edge was the right RB to bring in. He wasn't exactly in the PRIME of his career. He's a vet that knows the ways. He's a great receiver and can block.. but.... that doesn't mean he's an elite anymore. Having him there may actually hinder them from getting another one.

Their defense is solid. Their young QB looks very solid... and they have two great WRs (when they get Fitz back especially). Now they just need the OL and some stability to get this ship aimed in teh right direction.

I know the BIGGEST and toughest battle for ANY coach that comes/goes to AZ, is that they will need to teach the players, the team, the organization and the fans to get rid of that "losing" mentality. They have to learn how to win. They now have a QB that us USED to winning (thats a GREAT start). I think he should be kept. I think he is building a pretty damned good team that just needs to play a bit with their new leader.

            He should be kept.

But firing his OC was stupid.

            "We aren't scoring enough points"

Really? Says here you scored first in 3 of your 5 losses, Denny.

Your defense can't seal the deal, and your OL is horrible, so you can't grind the clock in the 4th to win.

            But let's fire the OC.

Fire your OL coach or DC.

But I AZ is more talented now than they have been in a while, so Green clearly is moving in the right direction.

              Dennis Green should be fired

He will more than likely be fired if the Cards lose in week 8. I heard that on the pre-MNF radio show tonight. Jim Nance said it I think.

Dennis green didn't miss two field goals that would've made the Cards 3-3.

Ther collapse last monday, that was a team effort. You can't protect a lead by passing the ball all the time. They can't rush the ball, thus they can't hold a lead.

Everything begins in the trenches, and their o-line is pitiful, and I sincerely apologize to all of the pitiful entities on the planet that I just insulted by putting the Cardinals in their league. But there's no other way to describe that "line". They are 5 Robert Gallerys without Gallery's talent. Not even Barry Sanders could make this work.

But who's responsible for the talent? Green or the GM?

Regardless, I admit that I might jumping the gun. Ravage, you make a good point and I understand the need for stability. I think I just lot a ton of respect for the guy when he made his O.C. his scapegoat, especially bad in the middle of the season.

You're both probably right and he should be given another season. But that O.C. situation and his attitude at times really grated on my nerves. Oh, well. I'm sure glad we aren't the Cardinals.
