  • Irvin, Jackson respond to Tiki's remarks

Let's just ignore Irvin's response because, like we've all said before, he's an idiot.

I was impressed with how composed and professional Tom Jackson's response was.

"I was asked an opinion about a subject, just the way he is often asked an opinion about a myriad of topics, a plethora of things," Jackson told The Post. "I'm assuming that often times that when he gives those opinions that he has not spoken directly to the people he is talking about because some of those opinions include the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, senators, governors, movies, books, I'm assuming he hasn't spoken to all those people before he gives those opinions. His opinion is no less valid. It is an opinion. That's all."

Much respect to TJ for defusing the situation and offering a calm, composed take on his side of the story.

Actually i hate that response from Jackson. He is my favorite anylist, but he needs to just man up, and say he was wrong for saying what he did. He is the one causing the distractions (along with all other reporters/anylists) not Tiki. He doesnt need to go off and tell everyone what thier opinion is, he is a PROFESSIONAL, he should have a PROFESSIONAL opinon backed up with PROFESSIONAL reasonings IMO.

I disagree with that. His professional opinion is based off his own time in the NFL. Someone put the question to him and given his past in the NFL, he gave an opinion on how Barber's retirement would (or would not) affect the Giants.

TJ's opinion may have been wrong, but he's not wrong for voicing it.

BTW, what do you mean by saying that Jackson needs to man up and say that he was wrong? If you mean saying that his opinion was wrong, I agree. I'm pretty sure he'll have something to say tomorrow on NFL Countdown about that and I would be surprised if he admitted that he was wrong.

But if you meant he was wrong for giving an opinion in the first place, I disagree. He's paid to give opinions on a myriad of topics. Sadly, this same principle applies to Michael Irvin. :2cents:

Point is TJ's opinion might have been wrong too early to tell but he is a classy man and at he didnt trash Tiki back so . As far as Irvin goes well if he would put the crack pipe away maybe he would have a clue and realize that TO and Dallas arent the only things in the NFL man that guy iritates me :brick:

I agree! So far Jackson/Idiot are the ones causing the distraction.

They have no business telling someone when it's a good time to announce retirement.

Irvin was forced to retire, Jackson went out on his terms....Two totally different perspectives. Yet they both managed to get it wrong!

It was Irvins contention that he only said Barber lost his right to be a leader. But, like Barber said, how would he know? He has yet to speak to anyone in that locker room. And how would Irvin have any idea about the dynamics of Barbers leadership.

If this were B.O Irvin would be swinging from his nutz, shouting from the highest mountain top, singing his praises!

He is the most annoying man on TV. He is a ******bag!
