I agree with you tex, I think the new inviroment will be good for Jake. Unfortunatly todays attitude is "what can you do for me now" and at 40 million bucks rightly so. If Jake doesn't produce a winning season this year, he'll be gone next year. If Jake keeps throwing INT's he might even be benched this year. I hear Jacksonville might let Brunnell go..................hmmm

You're right skills, you pay player that kind of money you expect them to preform better. Thankfully this was just the first game of the season and with this next one in San Diego I hope we'll see improvement.

AAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! You are not implying that we should get Brunell, are you? Please tell me your not? He is done worse than an overcooked steak! His skills are long gone.

Every single article, either out of Jacksonville or from national guys say that he should have been let go too. Its not just his knee, he seems to have completely lost his arm in the last 18 months. They all want the back-up, Garrard. Of course, there's Leftwich, but he is not ready. Garrard is a taller, less angry version of Jeff Blake....excellent deep touch, accurate, and from East Carolina. But he will be let go or forced to be a backup when Leftwich is ready. Maybe in two years we should look at him.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

I see the the blame is being placed on Greise for us having some rough seasons after Elways retirement. Well I think that Greise was an immature child. He never wanted to take the blame for anything, but wanted all the credit when we were winning! There were lots of times that if he would have just said that "anything" was his own fault and not the fault of someone else that the Bronco's fans would have given him more than just a chance to be a good QB. He is a whiner and a child and will never grow up... unless he gets someone to knock his thick skull in and show him that he really does have the potential to be a good QB... he needs to mature and play a little hurt sometimes.... TOE INJURY IN MIAMI PRE-SEASON!!! excuse me, but sounds like he is still the same Greise that left here...

HK as much I myself have been critical of him I do have to give him credit at least once when he played hurt. It was the Raiders game a few years ago when he had shoulder separation. It was thrid degree separation and he still played in the game. Now I'll readly admit that is only instance I recall him really sucking it up and playing hurt.

I must admit that I tried to support Greise through the years he was here... but every time I started to get behind him there was always something stupid the boy did and would make me angry with him. I was a little sad to see him go since he was in the shadow of the Greatest QB of all times (ELWAY!!!), but he did not prove that he had the heart to play the sport especially in Denver. He needs to get into an individual sport (like golf) if he can't play as a team player!

GO JAKE... GO BRONCOS... KICK THE RAIDERS BUTTS!!!!!!

Everyone says Griese was no good for the broncos. That may be true. But one thing i do have to wonder is who do you think drafted him. Mike did, and not saying he is not a good coach, cause he is a very good coach in my mind. but you do have to think aboutit when it comes to Jake, is he the answer for us, or is he just another griese?
Personally i don't think ihe is another Griese. i am gla to have him here (so far).

Whether you draft a player or pick him up via free agency you never know for sure how a guy is going to work out. There have been players who have been a bust in one place and then turn their careers around.

I wonder what his dad thinks of him. Its kind of cool that he wound up in Miami really.

I think Bob is proud of his son. It might be hard for him to see his son's short comings as a qb though.

Tell the Dolphins I said I'm sorry.
Redskins are looking for a trashing Aug. 9!

Didn't Griese say something like "this is the game that will define my career." before his last Raider game? I can't remember exactly what he said, but it was definitely a "foot-in-the-mouth" quote. And to make things worse for him, I think I remember him getting benched for Beurline, and Beurline came in and did a decent job.
