Objectively.

Broncos aren't near the level of bad franchise as the Lions.

Objectively during that time the Broncos were not as good as the Lions. It’s fact.

Lions are in a division with the Packers that went from 15yrs of Brett Favre to 15yrs of Aaron Rodgers.
All the while the Vikings also had Brett Favre in a season they would've made the Super Bowl had Favre rushed instead of just chucking the ball.
4 seasons Cousins, 5 of Culpepper. Warron Moon, Tarkenton, Brad Johnson, and Cunningham. Vikes are usually competitive.
Bears ruled the 80s in the division for 6yrs and like the Vikes usually are competitive.
Lions don't get a break with who they play against twice a season, all the while having one of the worst front offices for 20yrs. Lions are a franchise where 2 Hall of famers retired earlier vs staying with the team.(Megatron and Barry)sigpic

Some of the greatest players to ever play the game....Sanders and Megatron for starters. I feel for the fans though. They deserve better.

The Broncos have made it to 2 super bowls and won 1 in the last decade.(in fact 6 seasons ago) Broncos have Lions beat.

And at the end of the day, it comes down to an Ownership that doesn't actually care. The Ford family owns the Lions. And they kinda only own them because it's kind of always been a thing in Michigan for a native to own the teams.
The difference is the family the Fords wanted to copy(Illitch Family) deeply cared for the team and city.sigpic
