  • Moss to the Packers for Aaron Rogers

I saw this over on the orangemane, and i know its been discussed before but still look interesting.

Looks to be good for both teams, but Green Bay will still need a QB soon.

I would expect the Raiders to now take Calvin Johnson with the #1 pick.

Still in the rumor stages however.

Why would we want Aaron Rodgers is he was supposed to be Bret Favre's replacement? Nope, it would be dumb to have him and Walter. If we have 2 young QBs, I rather it be Walter & Russell.

Russell is too Fat!No one wants him! Personally,I like the QB from Boise State and Michigan State.I think both QBs should be high ranked.

Could this mean that the Packers will target Brady Quinn or Drew Stanton, assuming Russell goes somehere else before they can get him?

It doesn't seem to make sense to get rid of the guy who was supposed to be the heir to the throne in GB, just to get a malcontent WR. I think such a trade or any trade for Moss would be a futile attempt by the Packers to make one last run at the Super Bowl with Favre. Favre must be desperate to pass Marino for the TD record and Elway for the wins record. He can't really think that the Packers have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl. I haven't seen anything that the Packers have done that would indicate that they are serious contenders. Getting Moss would be the closest thing to any such indication and I don't think Moss automatically makes the Packers competitive. If the Packers do get Moss, Favre could end up regretting comng back for another season. The minute things don't go the way Moss likes, he's going to start whining and slacking off.

Little more than an unfound rumor at this point.

I highly doubt the authenticity of this trade.

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

Why in the hell would the raiders trade randy moss for aaron rogers??? Thats so dumb. Thers no way we trade a WR that good for an unproven QB. Seriously, how stupid.

That would be a good trade for Oakland.

Oakland - gets a young QB with alot of talent and potential making a mid level cap to come in and either take over the QB situation, or push Walter to get better. They also get to dump Moss' overrated azz and open up $9-$19 mill on their salary cap.

Green Bay - an old, washed up, overrated one dimensional WR who doesn't even play hard making $9-$19 mill and does nothing but set a negative vibe through the organization.

This one's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

We dont need rogers! We have walter!! If anything, id rather see us draft a young QB, and have walter be pushed by a young guy. Sure, rogers is young, but by no means does he equal the value of a randy moss.

1)If Walter is seriously your future QB, Al Davis won't live to see the Raiders win 6 games in a season.

2)Randy Moss is supposed to make $9 mil this season. That's 8% of Oakland's entire salary cap on one player who's injury prone, lazy, old, washed up, bad imaged football thug who hasn't made an impact at his position out on the field in over 3 seasons.

Oakand needs alot more then 1 position to even field a competitive team again. Trading away Moss, Oakland could use that cap space to buy a new oline. which you need desperately. Not to mention, dreaft a Randy Moss clone who doesn't have attitude problems in Calvin Johnson.

I agree on the CJ drafting, completely. Now, as far as walter goes, you dont know what he can do... how could you know if he doesnt have a decent o-line to protect him. Without protection, what would make rogers any different than walter? Nothing. Not to mention walter broke many records in college, and we honestly dont need rogers. I wanna get rid of moss badly, but to trade him for an unproven QB is just stupid. What has rogers done? About as much as walter, if not less. It just doesnt make sense to trade away moss and get back so little for him. I would rather trade him for draft picks, and move on from there.

The trade isn't about Rogers, it's about getting rid of Moss. And it isn't getting rid of Moss as much as it is freeing up that space with the cap.

$9 mill can go a long way for an NFl team. At least in this trade, your getting an unproven, young, talented QB to compete with Walter. I don't know what Walter can do. Just like noone knows what Rogers can do.

If I was Oakland, I would cut my losses with Moss, free up that cap space, draft possibly the most gifted physical WR ever, and work on solidyfying that oline.

If I could get a young QB like Rogers out of the deal, that's just the chocolate piece in the end of a sundae cone.

But thats what im sayin... we already have a young QB. Why not trade to green bay for an o-lineman or some other position that we need more. Im all for gettin rid of moss, and also freeing up cap space.... but i dont think we need rogers. Id rather get some draft picks and an o-lineman.
