EX-Patriot Receiver Darryl Stingley Dies

Chicago-Former New England Patriots receiver Darryl Stingley,who was paralyzed after a hard hit has during an NFL game nearly 30 years ago has died at age 55.

Stingly was pronounced died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital early Thursday, after he was found unresponsive in his Chicago home according to Tony Brucci an investigater with the Cook County medical examiners office.

This is sad stuff.

Even though Jack Tatum was one of my favorite players, I felt that he should've broken his own rule and at least apologized to Stingley. Tatum said he never apologized for the way he played but I think he should've made an exception here. I don't think I'll ever understand that mindset.
