  • Browns on draft day

i know soem of you are browns fans on this board and i was wondering if you could answer me a question.

There is rumors that Cleveland will take AP or Brady Quinn in the draft, but more so leaning to Brady Quinn. WHY

I know he "wants to play for Cleveland" and AP has said some good things about Cleveland too. But we can not forget about the heisman trophy winner who also wants to be a Brown. Why not get the feature back in AP, then in the 3rd or 4th take Troy Smith.

I dont know about you, but im not ready to give up on Chuck Frye. This year our line is WAYYYYYY better with steinbach, bently and fraley. i know its al about having a Veteran to coach up Chuck and Brady or Troy, but you got to do what you got to do.Since RB is not deep next year and nobody is close to AP, why not take him now and take Troy 3rd round. Thats just me because Frye can get it done.

And me hearign that Smith isnt even in top 5 qb's is insane. Kolb and DREW F'n STANTON is in front of him, i dont buy "because he is 2 inches to short" bulljive
Its called Drew Breese and Doug Flutie.

There is rumors that the broncos will take calvin johnson, but they most likely won't, just like the browns will most likley not take brady quinn, honesty i think the browns will take AP and i want them to get the best OL in the second round. Then use a third on troy smith like you said, ( i said that a week after the superbowl) and if charlie fry still struggles somehow, why not put in troy smith ? And it looks like bentley will miss this season aswell.

I couldn't tell you why the media jumps on a players bandwagon.

                Charlie Frye is just fine.

Adrian Peterson, Troy Smith, or Brady Quinn would be a horrid pick for the Browns. The Browns need OL help. Sure, Eric Steinbach was signed to play guard. But that doesn't fix the problem whatsoever. The fact that Kevin Shaffer is a starting LT in the NFL is the problem. He is not a valid LT and the Browns FO is making a mistake by having him in that position. He would better serve the Browns at RT competing with Ryan Tucker. The Browns should draft Joe Thomas. Troy Smith isn't an NFL QB if you ask me and that is why he is falling. Yes, Drew Brees is short and has had a nice career and Doug Flutie was short and had a decent career. But a short QB with a strong arm behind a suspect OL, or a pocket QB (Quinn) behind a suspect line, even a star college RB with injury problems behind a suspect offensive line are all problems. The Browns FO should be focused on the OL and then judge the players the Browns have and determine if others should be drafted in the coming years. Since the team returned in 99' the OL has been the Achilles Heel of the team, if that problem isn't fixed it will continue to haunt the team and drag it down.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?
