I don't think he's signed any papers to make his retirement official (that has been reported anyway) and I think he is gonna call it a career.

Jake's handled this whole thing pretty selfishly in my opinion. So why shouldn't we?

              QUESTION! This just hit me
IF jake reports to TB to play, does that mean that the Broncos get the Bucs 4th rounder in this years draft?
That would mean that the Broncos get Tanard Jackson!
Or was it next years 4th rounder? (08)

In a twist that could scuttle a proposed trade to Tampa Bay, Jake Plummer told friends he plans to retire from football rather than continue his NFL career in another city.

Under the terms discussed, the Broncos would have received a middle-round draft choice, believed to be a fourth-rounder, in exchange for Plummer. The trade was expected to be announced on Friday, provided all the major details were completed.

Hmmm... i wonder if he does show, the Broncos get a Safety afterall.

I am pretty sure most of us around here would have handled it the same way he did if we were in his same situation. IF not, then it would be rather stupid to not do whats best for you and your family. Just my opinion anyway.

I agree, but I don't think doing whats best for you and your family includes turning down millions of dollars to play for another team just because you're bitter. I just don't like his "I'm too good to go to Tampa Bay so I'm just gonna retire" attitude.

Jake is playing co-edd football in a rec league in Colorado. It was reported that Jake threw 3 picks and had 2 fumbles in the first 5mins of the game. He was pulled minutes later and replaced by a 14 year old girl. After the game, out of spite, jake ran over his replacments pink bike with his honda civic.

Its because he feels he should be entitled to be the starting QB, no matter how ****ty his play is.

It could be that he has had enough football for this lifetime. He would appear to be financially well off. Maybe he wants to enjoy the rest of his life. I think that I read something about having the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I seem to remember people dyeing to ensure that right.

He was released. That ends any and all obligations to the Broncos.

Jake is no longer a Bronco. . . get over it.
