My god the Patriots acquire Randy Moss and all of a sudden everyone thinks they are going to win the Super Bowl. They didn't make that amazing of off-season moves to put them at the top before the season starts, I just don't understand it.

Randy Moss is the man! He is going to be his old self, his TRUE self in NE.

I don't blame him for wanting out of Oakland.

I don't like the Patriots but I'm looking forward to seeing Moss dominate again. He was my favorite player in the entire league when he was a Viking.

One player doesn't make a team, I realize they are good but they are the same team they were last season -Graham +Moss and a few other rooks.

They also picked up Adalius Thomas and Donte Stallworth.

And they did make the AFC Championship game, so it's not so crazy to expect them to do well.

I expect good things, but think that the media hype is going to create way too high of expectations for them. They will win that division, but I am not sure about the playoffs...too early to tell
Go Broncos, make me keep believing this year

You know the addition that is going to be big for them is Wes Welker. He's going to KILL teams inside out of the slot. With all the burners on the outside they signed taking up the safetys concern,Welker is going to go crazy over the middle.Offensively this team is by far the best they've ever put on the field before they signed Moss.He was like a add on.This team has been built around their defense, but this year they definitely made a change in philosophy.Previously they expected Brady to win with whatever they gave him to work with, and he did. Now,with his ability to use the whole field in a passing attack and high quality receivers for a change,he should tear up the league. The Belichick defense will be as tough as usual,so the Media hype on this team is realistic. This is their best team on paper EVER in my opinion.

I don't see how you can look at their off season moves and say it wasn't amazing.

They had 4 WR's that were active on their roster the entire year last year, and only 2 of them are likely to make the team, and both will probably be puched out of the starting lineup. Not to mention Chad Jackson will be healthy who is billed as a first round talent even though he was a second round pick.

They lose DIllon, who only takes away carries from Maroney, who will be a stud in that system.

They lose Graham, which makes it a more promising role for Watson, who could quite arguably be the most explosive TE in the league.

They add Adalius Thomas who can literally play every position on defense, and is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL as far as tangibles go.

I hate the Patriots as much as the next guy, but I see a team with a very explosive offense, and a defense that's more than capable.

If MOss revives his career and Stallworth stays healthy, the Patriots will be the most explosive offense in the NFL this year, IMHO.

I agree with the ex-Raider coaches.

They say that Moss has bad knees and legs. Age is catching up with him FAST. I fully agree. Randy Moss is an extremely overrated pickup by the Patriots, IMHO. If this was the Randy Moss of several years ago - then it would be an amazing acquisition. However, this is the Moss of today and you cannot turn the clock on time.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

Keep in mind how far they went last season with the team they had. Regardless of how you feel about their offseason acquisitions, the added players only strengthens their team... Look at the top 3 favorites:

Colts - lost major Defensive starters
Chargers - lost entire coaching staff

Patriots - same team, same coach, with Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, and a group of starters...

Dont get me wrong, I definately am not a Pat's fan... Just saying you need to consider the implications.

Just because the media is covering Randy Moss... dont forget about

                    Wes Welker
                    Donte Stallworth
                    Adalius Thomas
                    Brandon Meriweather
                    Kyle Brady

So you are right... one player doesnt make a team... But it wasnt ONE PLAYER

                      Exactly.

I'm not sure why people doubt them or are so surprised by the praise they get.

Have we all forgotten that they were in the AFCCG last year....1 game away from the Super Bowl?

Not to mention, they still have the same corps. of players as last year and the new players aforementioned as well.

Maybe because they were already Super Bowl favorites even before they acquired Randy Moss.

                        -Great quarterback
                        -Great offensive line
                        -Great wide receivers
                        -Good tight ends
                        -Good, young runningback
                        -Great defensive line
                        -Great linebackers
                        -Solid Secondary
                        -Best coach in the NFL

On paper, the Patriots were already the best team even without Randy Moss. He is just the icing on the cake.

The fact that I have seen so many threads on Broncos and Chargers boards bashing the Patriots just proves that both teams are afraid of the Patriots.

It's a good thing Jay Cutler was a proven winner in college. Oh wait, nevermind.

I think the Patriots currently have the least amount of holes in their team in the NFL.

Actually I think the Chargers have the least amount of holes but I think the Patriots are still the better TEAM. Of course, if you consider coaching a position that could be a hole then yes the Chargers do have more holes than the Patriots.

I really didn't think their team was that strong last year, especially after the injuries. They really had some major issues, but they still did surprisingly well.Their receiving corps really was nothing anyone would have wanted on their team.Caldwell and Gaffney as starters? That's a joke. They'll have to have a good Spring training to just make the team this year.As I said, they were loaded without Moss at receiver this year, but I think it's a load of crap his legs are gone.I'll bet there isn't a player that can outrun him on the Patriots roster.Maybe he just hasn't been in top shape, which will be corrected at NE.I never have been a big Moss fan,but man is that guy athletic.
