The wife of former Cincinnati Bengal lineman Tom Dinkel will be sentenced in August on third-degree rape charges.

Jeni Dinkel, 51, has admitted to sexual activity with her son's 15-year-old friend during a wild party at the family home.

Dinkel works as a Hollywood makeup artist when she's not at her home south of Cincinnati.

Judge Gregory Bartlett said earlier this month that he thought the case was "too far off the norm" to accept a plea deal.

He expressed concern over the fact that Dinkel continued to say the 15-year-old victim initiated the sexual contact.

After hearing from the judge that she'd be sentenced sooner than she expected, Jeni Lee Dinkel left the courtroom in tears.

It's a clear victory for the 15-year old victim's family who just wants the legal proceedings to get over quickly.

"She just wanted to make sure that the bulk of this criminal thing could be done and over with before the school year starts so her son doesn't have this hanging over his head for the rest of the school year," said Rene Heinrich, the victim's attorney.

The judge also ordered a sexual offender assessment to be done by the Kenton County Probation Department.

Dinkel's attorneys had presented their own assessment.

If a woman taps a 15 year old, it's no big deal and the punishments are light. If a guy taps a 15yr old, it's huge and the punishments are most severe. If justice were indeed blind, the sex of the offender who mean nothing and every person that violates a child would be sentenced to the highest degree with no exceptions.

His parents obviously felt that these people were responsible and trusted them with their child. She betrayed that trust.

Regardless of whether or not he initiated the sex is besides the point. Not only was he too young to have sex with, she was in a position of responsibility. No different from a teacher sleeping with a student, regardless of gender.

That's because there is a double standard. There always has been and in this case I'm almost not opposed to it. Is it wrong? In the eyes of the Law, yes. Do you think this 15 yr old boy is going to be traumatized by the experience? Not in the least. Much like the boy who was having sex with his young, very attractive teacher.

I'm still of the opinion, call me tasteless, a dinosaur, old fashioned, insensitive, whatever, that a man (in this case a teenage boy) can't really be "raped" by a woman. I understand statutory rape laws and the reasons for them, but especially in this case, there was no "forcible" assault. At 15, he knew what he was doing. I was "bumping uglies" at 15 (granted, it was with teenage girls) and so are most high schoolers and have been since the 60's. I find it really difficult (and I'm a father with a son of my own) to believe that they should put this woman away for rape. Personally, (and yes I do have a HUGE double standard) I would be much more upset if it was my juvenile daughter with an over-aged man than my juvenile son with a woman.

Sex is completely different both physically and psychologically for men and women. IMO, the statutes should be different accordingly.

I completely agree with you here. IF she had tied him down and forced something into his anus without his consent, THEN it would have been rape. That 15 yr old boy most probably wasn't a virgin, and he was just as consenting as she was.

Double standard? Perhaps. But that boy isn't going ot be traumatized by the sexual act at all. He's traumatized by his parents taking him to court and having to testify against the woman he had fun with... and his friend's mom.

Should she just be let go? No. Should she have done it...no. But I believe, as HorsePower 56 stated so well... the status should be treated differently.
