Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

I think we'll win at Indy because of the loss of these players in addition to Tarik Glenn.
Brandon Stokley
Montae Reagor
Gilbert Gardner
Dominic Rhodes
Nick Harper
Cato June
Mike Doss
Jason David
Stokley did not play against us when we lost to them last year
Montae Reagor, did not play that game either
Gilbert Gardner had ONE total tackle
Dominic Rhodes had 3 total carries for 0 total yards
Nick Harper had 8 tackles
Cato June had 7 tackles, 2 unassisted
Mike Doss, did not play
1 Tackle For Jason David
Out of that whole list i see TWO people that played a minor role in that game.
Its not like they lost a bunch of powerhouse guys that played an intricate role in our loss against them last year

The Colts played 19 games last year, you know. This isn't about us beat them. This is about them losing 8 players to free agency or trades. That is huge for any team.

You obviously did not read the quote, but anyway.....

NO FREAKIN' WAY MAN!
It is true that FA losses are "Huge" to any team, but they are doubled......maybe tripled if they were players that actually did something other than sit on the bench

Besides, we didn't lose that game because their defense beat our offense.
Mike Bell ran wild. Jake threw like... 2 or 3 TDs?
Our inability to stop Joseph Addai from moving the chains, or to even pressure Manning at all allowed them to outscore us in a game of "who had the ball last."
By losing Tarik Glenn, and forcing either backup RT Charlie Johnson or 2nd Round rookie Tony Ugoh to man the LT position with limited offseason reps and roughly 4-5 games into the season, with us adding defensive improvements that should prove admirable in fixing the weaknesses we suffered last time.
Plenty of big bodies at DT ala Sam Adams and Jim Kennedy to go with a healthy (I don't think he played against Indy?) Gerrard Warren hopefully.
We also have Elvis Dumervil and Jarvis Moss and while green as grass, their O-line opponent will be roughly as inexpierienced as the pass rushers they are facing and while they have admirable Offensive and O-line coordinators/coaches, we have two brilliant minds in Jim Bates and Bill Johnson.
While our offense will be strengthened, they will have some improvements too. We passed on them mostly at will last time anyway, and only when their pass rush got to Jake, did our drives stall and force us to punt. Hopefully Lepsis can contain Freeney better than Pears did and a hopefully improved Pears can keep Robert Mathis in check.
Other notable issues in the game came when getting the rushing yards when we desperately needed it.
We ran at them on will most of the game, but all our weaknesses in our offense were transparent in our final 3 offensive plays. Tatum and Mike failed to get the yards needed to get the clock run down and allow us to finish with the last possession and when Jake was forced to make a play on third down, the Colts were all over him.
We got Travis Henry to keep us out of those third and long situations and... using last year alone, a more reliable QB to make those clutch plays with. Plummer was the man here... but not last year, we just couldn't count on him, despite my faith that he would come through like he did in his other three seasons. To help boost the run-blocking we added a stronger Kuper and Daniel Graham with a returning Lepsis.
Their defense is going to have some improvements though. Losing Cato June will be big for them, but Rob Morris and Bob Sanders ( both who didn't play last time) will be back to help aid their run defense.
While Manning strengthens on defene, his offense suffers a minor chink. The loss of Cato June is one weakness, but the additions of younger, more talented corners that have been waiting for a chance to take the starting role, and the return of Bob Sanders and Rob Morris make their defense a bit stronger.
Our defense greatly improves under a brilliant coordinator and a capable CB to handle Reggie Wayne, and also, hopefully a means to get to Peyton Manning now.
Our offense also improves to become more reliable.
A lot of it is "what if's" and "hopefullys" but until we prove it, all our "surefire" improvements are talk.... until we back it up, if we back it up.
The wildcard in this is that we are playing in the RCA dome, a place we tend to get blown out in.
Lesser teams have beaten them, so it is certainly possible and we are certainly capable.
At this point in the year though, everyone is the optimist about their team... then the truth sinks in and we start to get an idea for which teams are the ones to beat. Let's hope we are the latter.
