San Diego linebacker Shaun Phillips (foot) and running back Mike Tolbert (hamstring) were among the players who did not practice Friday. There apparently is a chance neither will play Monday night at Kansas City.
Given Phillips' status, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that rookie linebacker Darryl Gamble might see a lot of playing time against the Chiefs.
The banged-up Chargers will also be without guard Kris Dielman, who has a concussion and will miss at least two games. Tight end Antonio Gates didn’t practice Friday, but that was reportedly part of the plan and he is still on target to play against the Chiefs.
