They were actually surprised at how classy our fanbase is being. Apparently the Chief fans have not been so nice.

    My Thread
The Chiefs have the "classiest" fans in the NFL..... *edit* went to their forums and read some of the crap that's spewing out of them....it's disgusting.

A little something I made for you raiders fans (or even broncos fans wanting to show your condolences)

I'm quite sure there will be gestures around the league this weekend especially in Houston where the Raiders are headed. And rightfully so.

          • I'll tell you...When I heard Al Davis acknowledged the death of Barrel Man like he did, I nearly fell out of my chair. That's why I remember it so vividly like I do. It was on one of the local news broadcasts. At that point, as much as I "hated" the Raiders, I just couldn't see past Al Davis putting aside the rivalry with the Broncos and just flat out doing something personally nice for people who were hurting.

As for the Chiefs boards and their classless attitudes toward someone's death, I've checked those boards out for you know whats and giggles, and all I can say is this board is leaps and bounds beyond the way those folks conduct themselves over there.

I agree that the league needs to do something in remembrance of Al Davis. Heck, make it a silver and black ribbon or something on the helmets. Do SOMETHING..The man changed the NFL for the better in many ways eventhough his management of HIS team was questionable as of late. His pros certainly outweigh his cons.

                • I'm glad mostly everyone is being respectful given what Davis has represented the bronco fans over the years.....but plain and simple, Mr. Davis meant a very great deal to the NFL and what is is today, and simply would not be what is is today without him. He was one of (if not THE) the most important living founding fathers of this league. All rivalries aside, he deserves our respect for what he has done for this game.

So RIP Mr. Al Davis, the NFL has lost a great, and thanks for your vision......

It' odd the the world lost two huge visionaries in their respective fields in one week.....

                  • From Broncos Country to Raider Nation RIP Al Davis. Al has done a lot for football especially back in the AFL days. Between him and Lamar Hunt the Broncos probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them spearheading the AFL league back in the sixties and pushing for the AFL/NFL Merger.

                      • R.I.P. Al Davis.

He will be remembered for his passion about football. How many other owners can you say love football as much as he did?
