Very surprising for sure. We all knew he was in poor health but I never expected this so soon. RIP Al Davis. I don't envy the Raiders opponents this week thats for sure.

He WAS the Raiders, and the Raiders were him. I can't think of any other team where the owner had such a huge impact on it.
Without Al, and his team, being a Bronco fan just would not be the same.
This is a sad day for all the league, but I feel like I just lost an uncle. Yeah, a crazy one who was not a favorite at family gatherings, but part of the family none the less. A BIG part!
I have my TV on the Network now, and will watch all of it.

As much as I hated the Raiders, it's a huge loss for the NFL and AFC West. RIP Al Davis, you will be remembered.

RIP to one of the cornerstones of the NFL. Al Davis and his beloved Raiders are a franchise that anchored the AFC for decades.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the Davis family and the Oakland Raider fan base.

Quite a resume, a heck of a legacy. It cannot be denied that Al Davis helped to make the NFL what we all love today. His passion for the game is unparalleled. Always the maverick, but a guy who took this game and made it unique. There will probably never be another that affects the game as much as Al Davis. My deepest respect and condolences go out to Raider Nation today. When you guys get down to Houston this weekend, "Just Win, Baby!"

RIP Mr. Davis. This only makes the Raiders more dangerous, because now they are adding the fact they are playing in Davis's honor now. They are already playing very well this year, and now fuel has been added to the fire.
