I'm starting to believe it. I don't know how warm I am to it....

I won't hold my breath on us taking one early again. Wilson's probably going to be off the board by the 3rd round, and he would have to add mass and be developed to play in our defense....

Good post. Completely agree with you about Browning as a Sam, and I was surprised we drafted him because of that. I'm glad we did draft him though. And Bonitto as a 9 tech seems to make the most sense. Bonitto is a freak though, and I think he could even play Will. I thought for sure we had a future...

Browning is the man. He and Meinerz were fantastic picks....

I think your Bo Nix summary is really accurate, and I think he's the guy Payton will want after McCarthy. Really like the Sinnott pick. Really well thought out draft overall. Drafting a RB at 76 is steep as hell in our situation, but I can't knock anyone for wanting Jaylen Wright....

I honestly didn't know we were trying to move Sanders to OLB. That's news. WTF? I know he can rush from the edge, but I didn't know we were doing that AGAIN like we did with Browning....

To me, and I'm not trying to trash Pratt or anything, but he's a guy who has to have good mechanics and has to have things right. He doesn't have the arm talent and he's not a natural passer the way Penix is. Penix is flat out a better thrower of the football than any of these dudes we're talking about...

You're good man, I was just saying that I wouldn't stay at 12 for just anybody, but I would seriously entertain it for certain players in the unlikely event that they fell. I'd then try to trade back up for a QB....

I definitely don't want to draft a CB at 12, but there are a few players that would be hard to pass up. I'm okay with trading back though, as long as they get a QB in the process....

I'm not going to proclaim that he's a perfect, can't miss prospect or anything. He has unconventional mechanics, the ball dives on him on intermediate throws and sometimes sails on him. He has made some wild decisions with the ball under duress, and he's not going to be the playmaker outside the pocket...

If you're serious about writing off every QB from the PAC 12 that's one thing, but you're also saying Penix got "kicked out" of the B1G like he couldn't play. He had a rough season in '21, made some rough decisions with the football, but Indiana was getting destroyed up front. They won 2 games...

Sounds like they might be hanging on to him.

Right now, it seems he's being projected early to middle of the 2nd round, so if we were to trade back, who knows. I'm a Khristian Boyd guy, but I'm not going to act like Sweat's not a better prospect. For me it comes down to what the fall off is from the top guy to the next.

Yeah, I think we should try to get one at some point. And like you said, it could allow us to free up cap with Jones....

Another factor could be the hamstring. He didn't play the same number of snaps after he came back, but again, he was topped off at around a third of the snaps. It could be that he just isn't physically able to play more than that. So, that gets to the value discussion of how much do you invest on a...Last edited by Spice 1; 03-14-2024, 09:35 AM.

Yeah, I like upside AND value with later picks. There are a couple NT's who I think are pretty solid late in the draft, but the one I really wanted didn't fall. I'm just not crazy about drafting NT early in the draft. It seems like the difference isn't worth it, and I can't get past how some of the...

Very similar. Maason Smith and Nehemiah are upside swings. They have massive potential. Concalves is a good pass blocker but needs to be developed as a run blocker. He would be my idea of tackle depth who could step in and protect Penix or whoever if a starter went down. I'm thinking we're not going...

I think it has to do with the technological effects on social assimilation in relation to hierarchy and oppression. Or, in other words, sophistication of, and an ensuing convolution of moral matrices.
I salute men like Justin Simmons, because none of this works without men of his character....
