Lately that has been quite easy as long as you were critical of them :-)...

While I agree with your points about adapting our play to the strenghts/weaknesses of our QB, is something that has been sorely missing during Elway's tenure. Aside from the Kubiak years it wasn't done systematically,, or with the focus on developing our QB. Fox adopted partially to Tebow, but not to...

It is at least time for him to show that the "nice pass" moments are not too often replaced by the "why" moments.
To me he needs to show that when the team needs him to win the game than he is the man to do it. One of the things that has impressed me with a player like Tom...

Well,,,,PFM struggled plenty at the end of 2014 and all of 2015. PFM's struggles in 2015 also seemed to entice the defense to raise their game. We bacially had the same defensive players in 2014 and 2015, and for a defense it seems that if the offense plays at the level they did in 2012, 13, 14 first...

I think it is safe to say that 2012-15 was not a curse - at least it didn't feel like it!
If there is a curse, it is more likely to be a Kubiak curse. When he left us last time it took 6 years to make the playoffs....

When Manning was signed Denver Post had 54% of readers disagreing with the switch, and the revisionist history is really the denigration of what happened in 2011. We can discuss completion percentages and throwing motion till the cows come home, and no one will ever be able to know what would have happened...

That is negativity bias at play. None of us remember the players that we would like to have kept and who signs elsewhere and flame out, but we do remember the ones going the other way.
As sure a hand as Elway had from 2011-15 - especially 13-15, it seems like he does not understand the metrics...

So true - it is very few teams that have ultimate success with a QB that is paid as elite - wasn't Peyton the last one with a top 5 salary to win?

The sad thing when you look at our situation Broncos at the end of this season will have had 8 losing seasons since 1983, and Elway QB'd for...

The Cancel Culture (and self righteousness) is strong in this one! When we discuss what we expect from a young QB under Elway's regime, it is kind of relevant to discuss the young QBs we have had. No one when Lock came out thought that he was in the same league as Elway was coming out - hence the reason...

Based on which metric that is important for team success?

Jay has had a tremendous talent for getting people fired and his time in Denver saw a disingeration of the Broncos team spirit. Jake's worst year when Jay took over we won 62% with Jake and 40% with Cutler. In no way did he match...

There are essentially three ways too get good to great QBs:
1: Draft - but in Broncos history only QB we have drafted to win in the playoffs is Tebow, though there is that other one that Colts drafted and traded to us.
2: Reclamation project like Jake Plummer/Ryan Tannehill.....
    3:...

What exactly is it that you want opposing defenses to do for Lock? Play him like it was Tebow's heavy run - pound them to mince meat offense, and let the recievers run in single coverage?

Offcause a defense zero's in on the strength of an offense whether it is running or passing, and exactly...

No, Manning should not be the benchmark neither for his 2nd year predecessor nor for Lock. On the other hand constantly blaming O-line, coaching, receivers.... and making excuses for the lack of growth is not proper. Lock at this point should both exite us, frustrate us and make us laugh off stupid...

You put 2013 Peyton Manning in at QB and this would still be a 12 win team. Lock still has not played a lot of games, but he is now where we ought to see him correcting mistakes from week to week, and grow into the role he has been given.

If the O-line is out of place, it is Lock's job...

Agreed, but he has gotten the keys to the Ferrari, and it is not good enough that he only lost control over it three times going over Berthaud Pass.
He has this season to prove that he can grow, but there is little patience for the 4th loosing season. We have to make up at least 2 games to get...

Now the situation in 2008 and now are quite different. I would say it was much more like 2007 when we did not have enough information on Cutler and that offense, but only a cocky mediocre QB with a cannon for an arm. Anyone that looked analytically at what was going on would have seen very early that...

Great comment - that is exactly right that people tend to focus on irrelevant evaluation criteria. Those teams with the most passing yards loose about 55% of games.

The 8-8 2008 Broncos produced the same amount of yards as the 18-1 2007 Patriots (0.01yards differnce per snap) but scored...

Kind of funny that you have such a shallow focus and can be so wrong. While I was critical of Cutler from before you joined this board, the vast majority of Broncos fans thought that Cutler was the next Elway, and most to this day - as these debates show - do not understand that winning football games...

Who has ever traded a boat load of picks for an established upper level QB and then gone on to win a championship?
Dallas Cowboys did it the opposite way and became dominant.
Bears traded for a great Pro Bowl QB in Cutler and got teased. Otherwise it does not happen and there is a reaso...
