I don't see any world in which he isn't better than last year. We had a guy who showed he was not fit to be head coach week 1 calling plays and designing the offensive system. I don't care if he was a good OC in GB (allegedly), his boneheaded indecisiveness penetrated every level of the organization...

As an east coast dude I can't tell you how excited I am that we're actually playing a Sunday afternoon game on opening weekend. And it's against the raiders. Hate week starting early!

We get the Chiefs early, not playing in Arrowhead late Dec / Jan.

I agree with you. Paton has a bad track record for organizational level decisions but he's been "fairly" good with personnel where he has committed to focusing on it. I don't agree with the positions that he's focused on in the draft but he's been fairly successful with those picks. Now...

This is true, but the NFL regretted it last year because we became unwatchable football 2 prime time games in, and they were very happy to get to the point of the season where they could flex us out of prime time. 1) Not being the last game of opening week on a Monday night like it seems we are every single year
2) Not having both our games against the Chiefs occuring in December / January like it seems we do every single year

How can "beat the chiefs" not be one of the choices? I would consider the season a success just by snapping this embarrassing streak.
