Or the player that everyone believes to be the best QB in the draft now. Remember in 2012 Andrew Luck was the greatest QB prospect since John Elway. Every team wanted him, several teams tried to sabotage the 2011 season to get him. Here we are in 2020 and Luck wasn't the best player chosen in the...

  • There's no guarantee that a new owner in Denver would be a good owner. There are lots of bad owners out there, probably more than half the owners would fall into the bad category. So there's no guarantee that it would solve anything.

I would also point out that 3 other teams currently...

Denver seems to have sold it soul a little bit for the great times under Manning. Now we're in the wilderness, at some point things will get better....

As an OC he's been fired exactly once, in 2015 by the Eagles. And that was part of replacing the entire staff....

Several times he wasn't retained because other teams hired him to be their HC. 2011 he was replaced as OC of the Rams because he was hired by the Browns as HC. In 2015 he was replaced by the Eagles as part of a sweeping change to their entire coaching staff. In 2017 he was replaced by the Vikings...

  • I'm not sure it makes sense to make any sort of public statement at this point. The game has been played, the Broncos played without QBs, now it's time to move on and focus on not having it happen again. Save the statement for behind closed doors at the next league meeting, and try to line up other...

  • I don't think ownership matters would have changed anything here. The Titans have an equally convoluted ownership structure and the league moved around a bunch of stuff for them. The 49ers have solid ownership and they were forced to play a game shorthanded earlier this season. The Raiders have solid...

Denver has been on this track since partway through 2014 with Adam Gase. The common theme amongst the endless OC's is bad QB play. I'm not going to defend Shurmur (nor am I going to trash him, at least until the end of the season), but Denver's offensive struggles have been around for way longer than...

Honest question, how do you run more screen passes when the Saints are going 8 or 9 in the box, and running B&E (blitz and engage) against the backs? You also need to develop timing in order to properly run screen passes, without any practice reps it would have been tough to run anymore than the...

Scangarello was in way over his head, trying to act like it was a mistake to fire him is revisionist history. Denver was highest rated last year running over the LT, yet they ran mostly stretch and they ran it mostly over the RT, which was Denver's worst blocking lineman last year.

    Or...

No one is applauding anything. But trying to use this as a reason to fire anyone is just ridiculous. I'll never try to convince anyone to like Shurmur or whatever OC Denver fans want fired next year. But trying to use this game as some sort of benchmark in anyway is just looking for a reason to ...

Bingo. Without a QB your offense will struggle. And playing without a QB, but learning that so late that you can't install any new plays or really create a game plan would kill any team.

Shurmur deserves a lot of scorn this year, but today shouldn't factor into any of that in anywa...

  • And here we go, more new reports. The NFL shut down the Broncos QBs because of two indoor meetings. The problem for the NFL, the Broncos submitted the proposed meetings for approval, and the NFL signed off on it, twice. And the Broncos have the approval in writing.

  • What's the biggest difference between the first 4 years and the last 5? What's the biggest difference between almost all successful GMs and almost all unsuccessful GMs?

The QB is the most important position in football. When you have one it makes it easier to be a GM, when you don't you...

The only way to bail on him in 2021 is by trade or if he retires. Other than that, he's likely the starting RT for the Broncos in 2021 because his salary is guaranteed. The good news is the other 4 starters will be the same as this year, so some continuity may help build more consistency. And if...

  • That would be a question for the league, but I did give two other example of teams with no ownership questions that were told they must play regardless as well. It likely has to do with actual positive tests vs contact tracing issues on players that are testing negative....

  • And here is a new report that the Broncos' QBs refused to cooperate with the NFL/NFLPA contact tracers. That could be why the league is not helping the Broncos in any way. Also it's going to be a large fine for the players and team if it's true. But this is just one report, and we've seen before...
