Sounds like Paton does well with evaluating players in the draft, and that's been an issue for several years now. Hope this guy does well for this team. Would be nice to see the Broncos a formidable force again.

Not for us to judge. Innocent until proven guilty. I doubt we fans know much about Von's personal behaivor. The most we know about him is Von as a player. Let those closest to this situation do their work, and let the legal system determine the outcome. The only thing I do know is that often the...

Heard one theory that a good trade for Watson would be straight up to the Jags for the #1 pick this year. They might have to give up a bit more, but with the prospect of Trevor Lawrence available, that might be very attractive to the Texans. They'd get a possible top 5 NFL QB with no big contract,...

I could be assuming wrong, but I would think that the Broncos would eat a good portion of Miller's contract....kinda like how they're paying ex coaches after they're gone. Denver's cap space this year is supposed to be around 30 million. Maybe they could pay for 80% of Miller? Is that allowable?...

They traded 2 1sts for Tunsil, an offensive lineman. A guy showing skills of an HOF QB is worth more, especially if he vaults the team into playoff contention, which the Denver offense might be capable of with all of their players healthy. Those future 1st round picks would be in the 20's with Watson...

Not sure I understand what you're saying. Is it they're trying to get too much, or that since it was speculation, a price wasn't discussed so they aren't selling? Sounds like there might be several teams in a better draft position than the Broncos who would want him. Since O'Brien's out, maybe his...

Whether it's INT's or fumbles, it's a ball security issue, and that isn't good. I've seen a couple Minshew performances, and he seems more the reactionary QB. First year comparisons really don't mean much. It's a growth thing, and it's an eye test. Lock's "flash" is minimal, at this point....

I saw that. Supposedly some teammates said he told them he'd be interested in being traded. The estimates are 3 years worth of 1st and 2nd round draft picks, and a player. I think it's worth it. Pretty much every other position that might need to be filled by the Broncos in the next 3 years can...

Statistically, Lock turning into a great QB is unlikely. The Manning/Elway/Allen cases where a QB with a bad first year turns into a great QB are in the significant minority. The more likely situation is he turns into an average or below average QB is realistic. Note that there are plenty in that study...Last edited by DiveInstructor; 01-07-2021, 10:33 AM.

No doubt. No matter how much I criticize the team for not getting more SB's out of Manning, I can't take away from the fact Elway got him here and they won an SB.
Creds to Elway for putting together that SB50 defense and bringing in Kubes....Last edited by DiveInstructor; 01-06-2021, 10:10 PM.

Well, alleged texts. He claims it's a bunch of bull. Situations like this anyone can be the problem....or both. For now, I'm leaving that incident out of the discussion on whether to keep him or not. What is definitely appropriate is consideration of how much he costs the team to keep or to remove....

Jeez, your guess is as good as mine. This GM shift during this time for the team still has me scratching my head. I'm really not sure what their goal is, although I suspect it's a tactical approach. Is it win at all costs in 2021? If so, I think they'll find a way to keep Von, even with the risks associated...Last edited by DiveInstructor; 01-06-2021, 11:54 AM.

The only team I constantly want and expect them to do good are the Broncos. I barely follow other teams. But, since you asked, yeah, I think the Colts did a poor job with Manning as their QB. And yes, I'm spoiled from the Pat Bowlen years. So, instead of looking at the failures in the league and...

Having won an SB c'ship, the Broncos are the only team to not reach the playoffs in some capacity for 5 years. Jets hold the record of 10 years, but after winning their conference c'ship, not the SB.
With Manning, the Broncos...Last edited by DiveInstructor; 01-06-2021, 07:26 AM.

He has almost a year and a half of field experience. However, he's been a part of the organization for 2 years now, so 2021 would be his 3rd year. I'd say by the end of year 2 of field experience, you should be able to figure out whether a QB will really be someone worth committing to.

However much I hope Lock "gets it" and the offense starts performing great, I think they have a ways to go. A long ways to go. Lock's (and the team's) last few games were an improvement, but it's still not enough. I watched the Aint's and Chefs game of week 15. Watching what the Chefs could...Last edited by DiveInstructor; 01-05-2021, 08:59 PM.

Just read an article on how the Bears evaluated Trubisky, Mahomes, and Watson. At the time, Trubisky looked to be a better fit. Fox was gone after his rookie year, and Nagy took over. Sounds like they gave Trubisky weapons in year two, and they got to the playoffs. But, from there on it's been downhill....
