    Code of Conduct

    Code of Conduct

These are the terms of use that every member using interactive areas of this site agrees to adhere to. This would include chat rooms, message boards, blogs, and other interactive areas such as multimedia and contests.

Communicating in a chat room or on message boards is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not your facial expressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words. What is inappropriate in person is also inappropriate online.

Remember that the words you enter in a burst of passion or indignant anger will be there for you and everyone else to see, sometimes long after those intense feelings have passed. That's not meant to discourage spontaneity, but just a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post.

You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion. You agree that you will respond by debating the contents of the post, rather than take issue with the poster.

By using the Broncos Country Message Boards, you agree that you will not post any of the following material in chat rooms, bulletin boards or other forums, including private messages, visitor messages, signatures, or contributor point comments:

While the following rules are meant as guidelines, they are by no means meant to cover every circumstance that can arise on the message boards. Each instance is subject to change and the staff reserves the right to use reasonable discretion for any issues that arise within the community.

    • Material that contains vulgar, obscene or indecent language or images. This includes attempting to bypass the profanity filter by replacing or adding characters and providing links to sites or videos that contain inappropriate content.

    • Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member. Keep in mind, it can be difficult to interpret tone or intent online so what you may consider appropriate may offend others.

    • Statements that are bigoted, hateful or racially offensive (hate speech). The Denver Broncos have a zero-tolerance policy for any posts that may fall under this category. Failure to follow this requirement may result in a temporary or permanent ban.

    • Material that depicts or discusses illegal activities with the intent to condone or commit them, including drug use, violence and use of unauthorized copyrighted material

    • Lying about your identity – either by denying that you are an existing member under a different name or impersonating a member of the Denver Broncos organization, including players and message board staff. Please be very careful how you post if more than one person is using a single computer or network. If there is any question about the accounts, it will appear as one person to the staff, and they will treat it accordingly.

    • Any communication that contains spam, or any form of commercial solicitation. This includes any attempts to buy, sell, distribute, assist with purchase or sale or trade tickets, parking passes or game videos on the message board. Distribution of game tapes is illegal and an NFL and network violation. Use of the board to promote personal websites or soliciting support, sales or any involvement from members of the message board is prohibited, along with using the site for promotion of personal agendas of any type. These violations can result in banning without notice.

    • Material that impedes or otherwise prohibits communication; disrupts the discussion including, without limitation, using fan names in topical boards that are offensive to the topic, the team, the sport and/or its fans, and repeatedly posting off-topic messages in a topical message board.

    • Material dealing primarily with political or religious topics or issues, except in private forums reserved for members who have achieved Starter status or higher. Note that this discussion is permitted at the discretion of the moderator staff and can be prohibited entirely

    • The use of links leading to inappropriate or potentially damaging sites

    • Harassing the moderators - This is considered a major offense. Moderators volunteer their free time to keep the boards running smooth while enforcing the rules and should be afforded the proper respect when they are performing their duties. You can disagree with them in discussions like any other member but when official action is taken you need to accept their decisions or discuss them privately and in a civil manner. Calling out moderators, publicly or privately, will not be tolerated.

    • Abusing the Contributor Status system. Penalties for doing so may result in infractions or bans. It is not a tool for abuse, and users are expected to use it to help shape a positive community. Actions contrary to that goal will be responded to on a case-by-case basis and with little tolerance.

    • Refrain from the use of derogatory monikers for any of the players, coaches or staff. This does nothing but agitate and offend other users and helps degrade conversations. Degrading nicknames will be deemed trolling and will be responded to accordingly.

    • Do not post links to, or ask for links to, live streams of NFL casts or other copyrighted material. While we most certainly understand and sympathize the desire to see the Broncos play, the NFL has asked that we remove and record any of these links that should be posted. Disregarding this warning can and will result in disciplinary action up to and including bans, and your information will be turned over to NFL security.

    • For any questions or comments, please PM a mod for clarity. We ask that users refrain from creating threads to complain about certain aspects of the message board without first discussing the issue with the staff. As always, please be civil.

Statements or postings that violate the above terms will be acted on upon discovery. While we may attempt to notify you if we move or delete a post, we are under no obligation to do so. Depending on the nature of the violation, the Denver Broncos at their sole discretion may give public or private warnings, issue infraction points, suspend members' forum access or terminate a customer's account.

Please note that times of higher traffic (i.e. gamedays, or right after important news comes out) are likely to be treated more strictly and may result in a short temporary ban in lieu of infraction points. Please be attentive to what you post!

The Denver Broncos offer these forums for fans to discuss a variety of topics. There may be statements that individual members find personally objectionable that do not violate the Code of Conduct. All posts are the opinions of the respective members, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Denver Broncos Football Club.

    How the Infraction System Works:
If a post is made that violates the CoC, the staff will issue a warning for it. Warnings will appear in your control panel and are only visible to you and to site staff.

The warning carries a certain amount of points with it depending on the severity of the infraction. For example, minor infractions may only result in a 5 or 10 point warning, while more severe infractions can be 50 or 75 points. Points add up over time and eventually can have an impact on your access to site features, so be careful.

If the member doesn't break the same rule again for a while the infraction warning and associated points eventually go away. Minor infractions are used to remind users that they have violated the Code of Conduct, but we are aware that from time to time, users may slip up. Only major infractions tend to have a serious effect on users’ accounts, unless they are consistently racking up smaller infractions.

When a member reaches a certain amount of total infraction points they'll temporarily lose the ability to use certain site features. This serves to let them know they're not living up to the community standards and they should do better.

If the problems persist and the total infraction points eventually exceed the top threshold the system will suspend an account temporarily. When the suspension is over, the member comes back and has the opportunity to rejoin the community.[
