    Shut Up!!

Okay I am sick and tired of everyone complaining about the Super Bowl. If the seahwaks would of won then no one would be talking about the refs. A win is a win no matter how it happens...any real human being knows this. If the broncos would of won everyone in here would be like w/e the refs did a great job bla bla bla...SHUT UP!!!! However I do agree that the refs need to be checked out for betting on teams. I mean are there any rules prohibiting refs from betting? If there is not...well that might be a reason for some of this really bad officiating. The problem need to be fixed. However I would honestly have to say that this super bowl was officiated well, with the exception of the darrel jackson reversed TD...that was the only bad call...and even with that play would of been a TD that still leaves the score 17 to 21 pit...so just shut up please

    Sig by Snk16...Thanks

      Uhemmmm...

I believe this is a "forum" for public discussion.

So guess what bozo, you can do one of two things. Either avoid viewing threads where there may be ref-related whining, or create a mental state that enables you to view certain material in these public forums without having a breakdown.

-Pushoff called against Darrell Jackson=minus 6 points Seattle. This one was a judgement call, so it could've gone either way. I didn't like how the official changed his arm motion from TD to grabbing the flag after Hope screamed in his face.

-Roethlisberger TD=plus 6 points Pitt. Holy crap people....How did they not overturn that one? The ball DID NOT cross the plain, and in the process of being tackled (before he was down) the ball and his forearm holding the ball were pushed back. Granted, they could've gone for it on 4th down, but Bettis could've tripped in the backfield or had an asthma attack or something. It's not a given they score, for sure.

-Holding called against Sean Locklear=minus possesion at the 2 Seattle. His hands were inside the shoulders, plain and simple.

-"Below the waist" penalty against Hasselbeck=mid field possesion for Pitt which led to the biggest play of the game. I was under the impression that you could tackle a guy any way you wanted to, aside from grabbing his facemask or horse collar, etc...

-Refs oblivious to delay of game in 4th quarter=Randle El conversion and more time off the clock (which, had it been the same play, would've been short by at least 4 yards. Regardless of the playcall, it would've been a much tougher conversion).

-Hasselbeck fumble in 4th quater=this one actually went in Seattle's favor. But, thank god they had a challenge, or this one would've been a screw up of epic proporsions.

You know what though, the game is over, so how 'bout you don't worry about it.

        "If the Seahawks won"

Are you stupid? They didn't win because of the refs, that is why people are complaining. You obviously didn't watch the game.

Just so you know homeboy if the Hawks won and the refs were just as bad at getting the calls right and the steelers were screwed out of some big time plays I would have been complaining still so don't make that remark because you don't know what is in our heads and as some one else said

Just one thing to say 4 1/2 point spread - right?

hmmmmmmm - had that TD counted the spread would NOT have been covered

Makes ya wonder a little more - dont always look at refs controlling the OUTCOME of a win or loss - its more about the points

                    Pathetic

If that game wasn't rigged, I am as blind as a bat. I really didn't care which team won. I am a Broncos fan. But, that was sick. If I were a Seahawks fan I would be so angry. If I were a Steelers fan I would be ambarrased that my team won the Super Bowl because of poor officiating. That was the worst Super Bowl ever, because of the officials. I have watched 30 Super Bowls. I would rather see a team get beat 55-10 fairly, then watch a team win or lose only because of how the refs are calling the game. Very lame!!!

People were saying the same thing about Den vs the Pats.
Did you feel embarrassed after that? I know I didn't.
All that matters is the "W" and when the Broncos win another championship, I could care less how it happened.

                          1) Pass interference on New England gave us the ball on the 1. = 7pts. Den
                          2) Champ Bailey INT was a touchback in many peoples eyes = 7pts. Den

                          Steelers game...
                          1) Shady call on the offensive pushoff= 7pts Seattle

There were about 3 or 4 other "penalties" that you're missing there. Really, the only shady play in Denver's game was the PI call against Samuel. Champ made the big play, and from where the ref was he called it down inside the 2. Judgement call...

                            In Seattle's game:

1)Pushoff call was weak. There was no evidence of "pushing off," and Hope grabbed his arm as well. I didn't particularly like how the back judge changed his arm motion from touchdown to "grab the flag and toss it" after Hope yelled at him. This was a judgement call, and a bad one at that.

2)The Locklear holding call was also a bad call, and I believe it was made by Leavy himself. He was right there, so how did he not see the hands inside the frame? Bad call.

3)Roethlisberger's TD also irked me, big time. First of all, the ball clearly never crossed the plane. He was pushed back before he was down too. The referee's reaction is what really got me. Even Al Michaels noticed it. The side judge came running in with one arm up as to indicate that he was down, but when he was roughly halfway to the pile he raised both arms. After replay, it was clear the Roethlisberger moved the ball, with both hands, across the line after he was down. Ridiculous call, and one that would've stood as called had it been called down at the 1 and reviewed.

4)Then, quite possibly the two WORST calls of the game were the Hasselbeck tackle below the waist and the OBVIOUS delay of game against Pitt in the 4th.

5)Another one was the Porter horse collar on Alexander, I think in the 4th quarter too. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the rule is you cannot tackle a ball carrier by using his shoulder pads. Porter grabbed the neck area of his pads and tugged him down. Even worse, it was right in front of the ref. There's been soooo many of these during the regular season, so the NFL needs to clarify the rule and call it when it happens. No more of this wavering crap...

Anyways, people can go on and on with this stuff, so whateva. I would'nt compare this game to Denver's though, because the refs do not cause 5 turnovers. They may inhibit drives or stall momentum, but they don't cause turnovers.

The entire playoffs, not just this game, have indicated the need for changes IMO. Full time refs make the most sense to me, because there's really nothing else that can be done. I also like the college review system, where every single play is reviewed by the booth.

I don't recall the refs throwing a pick in the red zone, dropping many passes, missing 3 field goals, or using poor clock management before half and at the end of the game. Seahawks gave them that game, the refs only had a small part in the outcome of that game.
