    Poetic eulogies to Darrent Williams...

Very late last night a truly crushing loss came,
something that hurt more than losing a game,
1 of our Broncos family, Darrent was his name,
a mere two years ago to the Broncos he came,
seeking pro-football glory the fortune and fame,
some coward and a gun extinguished his flame,
shot outside a nightclub the Denver police claim,
Darrent's life was too short his loss is a shame,
I truly hope that they capture who is to blame,
those punks who drove up and took their aim,
and they spend 40 years behind the bar frame,
after leaving the precinct lumped up and lame,
'cause the Denver Broncos'll never be the same...

<--- To Darrent Williams, rest in peace...

I abridged it a little from the one in Smack...there will be more...
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

May this sad loss ignite a light
That will never extinguish but burn bright
To inspire our Broncos to carry on the fight
To win games for Darrent who passed away last night.
Our prayers to his family in their plight
To all his team mates in their fright
May God guide you all towards the light.

    Rest in peace Darrent Williams

        JLM, Jaws, and AZSnakeFan....

Wow! I loved each of those eulogies and they all touched me deeply.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

There are no words I type that can relate,
the loss we all felt on the New Year's date,
when gunmen stole Darrent William's fate,
they took Darrent's life with an act of hate,
we are all devastated, saddened and irate,
that those who killed him seemed to skate,
a second year starter from Oklahoma State,
although he was small his heart was great,
Darrent's huge heart was my favorite trait,
I'm in disbelief that we speak of him as late,
our hearts loom heavy with sorrow's weight,
Darrent's winning spirit will not soon abate,
though he's been brought to heaven's gate...

<--- To Darrent Williams, rest in peace...

when someone is taken from us
            so suddenly
            the pain is overwhelming.
            we don't understand why
            and may never.
            for solace, tonight i know
            there is one more star
            in the sky
            bright,
            shining.
            and i'm sure it's
            Darrent's smile.

Darrent Williams' life ended much too fast,
still can't believe that Darrent has passed,
the way that he was taken left us aghast,
his great life was ended after a gun's blast,
but I trust that Darrent's gone home at last,
I type of my sorrow running deep and vast,
to join friends and foes who have amassed,
in this tragic state that we've all been cast...

Darrent Williams will be sorely missed,
in more ways than a mere fan can list,
who'll be father to the kids he kissed,
and with those kids upbringing assist,
his life ended short with an awful twist,
I think of how he died and make a fist,
wishing that the awful day didn't exist,
as both eyes well up and start to mist,
though angry and sad we must resist,
and of these vengeful thoughts desist,
Darrent was a faithful man he'd insist...

                        man law your a poet...

New years day wasn't so bright,
Not because we lost a playoff fight,
We lost a great soul that wasn't right,
Darrent's smile had always been bright,
A Bunch of gangbangers were out at night,
Idiots got in an argument that started a fight,
Thinking that D was involved is way out of Sight,
All he wanted to do was make things here go right,
So Some gangsta's decided to shoot, out of fright,
He leaves two kids, which we wish to be alright,
I thank other teams who come here Despite,
The fact we were rivals at game last nite,
Some idiots also came here with spite,
No one here thought that was right,
We must fix this, with our might,

I've run out of words that rhyme with ite,
Except maybe DY-NO-MITE... which i couldnt fit in anywhere.

i also made a pencil outta the text....

For Darrent is surely in a much better place
with angels around him and his smiling face.
A teammate, a father, a son and much more,
a bright future in heaven is surely in store.

Darrent Williams, a young and rising star
Cut down in his prime, shot to death in a car
For the senseless murder of a man
It makes me wonder, GOD, was this in your plan
How can it be that to start the new year
We wake up, and it’s death we have to hear
He leaves a family, young children and a wife
Why GOD, why did he have to lose his life
We’ll remember him for the good that he took part
A special place reserved for him in each and every heart

There are two kinds of teams in the AFCW; The losers and the Broncos!!!
