    2007 Scapegoat

As Bronco fans we are obligated to place the brunt of the blame for all the team’s problems on a select group of players. Past scapegoats include Quentin Griffin, Ashley Lelie, Al Wilson, Trevor Pryce (even though everybody wants him back now), Larry Coyer (guilty), and the person whose name we won’t speak.

So, who are the scapegoats for 2007? It looks like DJ Williams and Brandon Marshall are shaping up to be some of the top candidates. Darkhorses include Dre’ Bly, Daniel Graham, Nick Ferguson, and potentially Jarvis Moss.

What do you all think? Who will the scapegoats be this year?

Remember, we’re only always one player away from going to the Super Bowl.

I voted "other" though I could see DJ being a big possibility, I think he will get a free pass this year. In my mind it will be Ian Gold if he doesn't have a "pro bowl year"--whatever that means.

Otherwise I think Travis Henry. He is injury prone--that's his big knock. I think if he gets hurt and doesn't get 1500 yards then we'll see him be the scape goat.

Come on now, you're being too logical. First regular season game we lose, the board will explode and someone will have to go. Happens every year.

Trust me, it wasn't just one game. That was just the best example I could find.

From his game at Indy (when everyone came with the Barry Sanders comparisons) to his games in 2004 (when he didn't play so well) he became a really polarizing figure on this board. By the time it was all said and done, 'Q' was becoming a bad word.

    Other.

    It's always the QB fault.

I'll take DJ to be the scapegoat if team's keep running all over us.

I guess it will all depend on how real your expectations are. Some on this board act like we have the most talented players in the NFL. Others act like the other teams are not trying to win also.

I just want to see a team that plays with heart and does not quit on each other or the fans. Realistically we are a very young team, with 7 starters having less than 3 years experience. Add to that DJ is trying to play a position he has never played before, and I think all I hope for is to see this team get better week to week.

I chose other, because if we loose a lot of games and give up a lot of points, it will be because of the Jim Bates Defensive scheme. On the other side, if the D Line can be pulled together and DJ develops at the MLB then he also could recive most of the credit for the sucess of the season. The only other person as someone else so wisely mentioned, would be Jay Cutler, because it is always the quarterback's fault

I'm guessing either DJ or Ian Gold whichever one comes up short of what people expect of them. People will probally hate on DJ and then other people will come in and say it's Ian's fault because he never let DJ play his true position.

But I thought it was ALWAYS Shannys fault?

Personally I think it will be Bly. He will get a load of INTs but will get burned too (it's just his game). In spite of his good play he will be flamed. That is my prediction.
