Players who would make good/great coaches?

Im mainly focused on players on the Denver Broncos but I suppose it might be worth expanding to players on other teams as well. But in any case, does anyone else think John Lynch would be a great coach? Also, what about Tom Nalen or Rod Smith? Its hard to know on Nalen because of the pact to not talk to the media that our Oline has had. But Im sure he would be outstanding as a coach since he has had to have the technical knowledge to make calls on the front lines. Plus he has seen a lot in his time with the Broncos. Im less sure about Rod because a lot of times WRs and RBs are only worried about their own sector of fire.

Shoate - he must be smart because he has found a way to stick around 4 years with no talent.

I don't think John Lynch is that bright.

    Really?

My dad was actually lucky enough to talk to him in person before -- while he was with the Bucs -- and said he seemed very, very educated.

And I know you don't mean football smart, 'cause that guy definitely is!

I can't say for myself, but from what I've seen / heard, he seems a lot smarter than many of the other players in the league.

Thank you Skywalker for the Marshall sig!

Thank you Damien and Darrent for the memories. You will never be forgotten!

I can't tell if you're joking or not. Lynch went to Standford U, meaning he's a very well-educated guy. And to be playing at his age at the level he does, you have to have football smarts in order to keep up with the young guys whom are faster and stronger. Just like how Rod has done it in recent years, actually.

We have some very smart players on our team, I must say. I particularly love the way that Rod's setting himself up for a career after football (in something other than punditry). I think a lot of other players should follow his example.

Lynch could make a head coach. That's about it.
The NFL being played overseas is a terrible idea.

Lynch, Al Wilson, and Rod Smith.

They're all (or were) very vocal team leaders and that's what I believe makes a good head coach (along with a couple other things).

Bailey and a handful of others could make good positional coaches or just assistants.

what? really? He graduated from Stanford.... I think he's always shown to be VERY bright and articulate.

Anyway... if I had to think of someone from any team... it would be Steve Young.

From the current Bronco roster, it would have to be John Lynch. Although I personally don't think any from the current roster would make good coaches. Not that they don't know football, or aren't great guys.... but coaches are just different than being great guys.
