Jason Elam signs with Falcons (merged)

For the first time since the 1992 season, the Broncos' full-time placekicker will not be named Jason Elam.

The franchise leader with 236 games played — two more than John Elway — Elam's 15-year career in Denver ended today when he agreed to terms on a four-year, $9 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons. The Broncos had offered a three-year deal for about $7 million.

    Elam Officially a Falcon

I just got a text from channel 4 saying that the Falcons and Elam had agreed to terms, i can't find a link to confirm it but im sure there will be one shortly. Anyway, although he was getting old and losing a little leg i wish we could have kept him a bronco until retirement. Hopefully he'll be an addition to our small HOF class one day.

Check out my NFL Draft website!

With the offensive woes the Falcons have experienced recently, Jason will probably have more attempts than ever before.

This is a sad day for me.

    Thanks for everything Jason!

    I will miss him.

But, it's business. You go where the money is.

Thanks for the great games, Jason.

I don't know if I'd agree with that, the Falcons have to move the ball to get him in range, which is at about the 30. If they can't move the ball, he won't be kicking field goals.

Good luck anyways Jason, you will be missed

Thanks for the memories Jason. It was an honor to get to meet you, and wear your Super Bowl ring for the picture! I wish you nothing but success and good fortune.
A final you were simply amazing.

This is indeed a sad day for me as well. I hate to see what I call "good Broncos" go, especially to another team and not retirement. He will be missed, and personally it will be hard to see him in a falcons uniform. But good luck Jason, and thanks for all the memories!

Awwww man ...I am so upset

Somewhere inside me I thought that we would finally just sign him and he would be playing with us again this year!!

    What a bummer!!

I will def. miss seeing him out there.. and having him on the team.

Thanks for Everything Jason.. You will always be our #1!!!

I'm sad to see Jason go after having seen him play for the Broncos for so long. I wish him well. I guess now we have to get used to a different kicker but it sure won't be the same without Jason kicking one through the uprights to save the game.

What is getting into Shanahan letting all the good players leave, especially Jason, their going to have a tough time finding a consistant kicker like him, look at last year, how many did he save for the Broncos, COACH??
I don't know where your head has been the past few years but it sure itsn't on your team more like the south end of Bucky.

When he does retire, I hope he decides to retire a bronco
