Nate is going to be a very solid middle linebacker by the end of the season. He has the fire to be something great. What we need, however, is for the front 4 to stand tough against the run and get some pressure on the quarterback. Honestly, at this rate, we need to draft more defensive lineman (I know, not again!) before another MLB.

One of the best games I've seen from Webster
    1. The fumble recovery
    2. Lost his helmet
    3. Goal Line stop
Unfortunately he also played with his usual cluelessness.

He looked better in zone coverage between the DEs and we kept him out of man or deep coverage. The DL kept the gaps closed so he didn't get juked for big gains(Sproles). He also had the worst LB Blitz I've ever seen today. He blitzed the gap between the RG and RT, but it closed before he got there. Instead of cutting to his right into an open lane, he slammed into his DT, shuffled back a few steps and looked around until the play was over. This guy is a back-up that needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

As a fan isn't this what we want?

I know that 3-0 is nice and another one in the "W" column is nice. But when the Bronco's win their last two games by a total of three points, there has to be a sense of urgency with the defense. There is much midnight oil to be burned before the KC game.

I'll go crazy if they blow a 14+ lead for three straight weeks in a row.

I was coming here to post this.
Dennis Smith, Simon Fletcher, Steve Atwater, Terrell Davis and Rod Smith all belong in the Hall of Fame.

I think the broncos are just a good kicker and a good referee call away from 1-2. Defense has to play better to be considered an elite team.

They sure do feel good when we pull em out though.
I absolutely agree with you - these Broncos games are the ones that are fun to wake up and watch on the couch on a Sunday morning when your team hasn't played yet. And while they are fun to watch as a life-long fan, they have to make all of us worry. The defense will get better, it almost has to. And, I will be happy when 34 points will be plenty to win a game!

    Looking a little better

Webster did look better today, but DJ Williams had a MONSTER game, 14 solo tackles, he was flying to the ball!

Sure a Broncos blow out would be fun too, but would it really be as enjoyable of a game when you really think about it? 3-0!!!!
It was definately entertaining the first 3 weeks!

We have to be able to hold a lead against Kansas City. Maybe it will give the D some confidence!

    I get worried

When we are up by 17-21 points everygame, I dont know how many years that has scared me because the Broncos just have never been able to hold a lead, no matter who it is lined up against the D.

The defensive line and, to some extent, the linebackers need to be able to work together as one unit. Part of the problems with the constant change in the defensive line over the past decade or so is that they have not had a chance to play together for very long. You make the comparison to the Packers and Cowboys, but if I remember right, those lines have been mostly the same for a few years.

Our players can play; give them time to learn how to play together. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later!

I'm already panicking and going crazy, but no, I don't think we have much at all to fear from Kansas City. Our defense might even get a sack or two!

The Chiefs are the worst team in the league; I'll be surprised if they manage 2 wins. Herm Edwards might be the worst head coach I have ever seen, to boot. There will be no face-saving gig for him to run to this time...
