    Talking New Laptop!

No... not a new technology advance or something... (although I heard about something to look up today...)

Just that I just got a new laptop!

I was going to ask here if it was recommended to charge and use up the battery one full time with a new computer the way it is with Cell phones, but I looked in the Owner's manual instead. It doesn't say anything about draining it... just that it recommends fully charging it. Input still appreciated.

    It's a Dell XPS M1530

I had an interesting day before work...

Had Bresnan out to hook up my highspeed cable. We were trying to find a way to get it all wired up, and it turns out our cabling in the house is bad somewhere (which of course they can't fix... we'd have to have an electriction out). So he needed to get to a Junction box in the Garage. It's at the back corner... where we'd piled all of our stuff in front of it so the Garage door guys could fix the garage! lol. So after shifting around a bunch of stuff, he replaced some of the stuff in the junction box, he hooked up the modem out there, and I hooked up the router from there.

ANYWAY... it was while I was in the garage moving stuff around that my new laptop showed up... a few days earlier than expected. Been waiting for what feels like FOREVER. Ordered about 3 weeks ago, and then later found out it wasn't shipping till the 3rd... then I go to check on Saturday, and I had gotten an email (my second account that I don't check regularly) that my shipping was delayed. It went out Thurday or Friday and wasn't expected here till Wed... and shipping to Casper is NEVER quick, as we're viewed as a 'rural area'.

So I was stuck in the garage working on getting my highspeed hooked up rather than play with my new computer. Very mixed feelings. Ended up with 30 minutes to do set up before coming to work.

    Anyway...

    Had to share.

Oh... and anyone ever use a fingerprint scanner on a laptop? Tried to work it a few times and couldn't get ONE good reading.
    Thanks, Reid!

I commend the purchase. Its actually the same laptop I have. The finger print reader is tricky. I found that if you really press the tip of the finger down, you get better reads. Also, wiping it off with a screen wipe helps.

I think Ben Tate will be the best back taken in the 2010 draft. (5/3/10)

    Congrats on your new laptop!

I'm not even sure if they still require it or not but I still let my new laptops run all the way down one time and then charge them back up. In fact, I do that about once a month in order to keep my battery in peak shape.

With battery technology changing a little bit all the time, I just feel it's better to be safe than sorry. (Laptop batteries are expensive to replace!)

I'm sure he didn't MEAN to...

He wouldn't do that, would he?

It had to have been an accident...

I agree with red, there are a half dozen more reasons that make you wierd before we get to this one.
