That will be a sad day. I still remember his first catch to win that game against the Redskins. I hope the organization keeps him around with some role, preferably a coach.

Rod Smith, I salute you for everything you've done for the team

he turned it down because he was thinking he was gonna come back

Thinking he still might play, Smith turned down a chance to be the Broncos receivers coach in February.

Come back and coach for us Rod, stay a Bronco forever!
Dennis Smith, Simon Fletcher, Steve Atwater, Terrell Davis and Rod Smith all belong in the Hall of Fame.

They need to find room for him somewhere! I can't imagin going to the games and him not being there, it was a comfort...childish maybe.... but I don't care, Rod is/was/always will be my favorite player!

This is a day we all knew was coming but somehow, against all hope, we hoped would never actually happen. I've been a fan of this team since 1977 and Rod is, far and away, my alltime favorite Bronco.

So here's one more Mile High Salute to the best of the best

If there was ever a former player who would make a good coach Rod Smith is it.

I hope you return with the team at least in some capacity Rod. These young guys need a role model like you.

I think Ben Tate will be the best back taken in the 2010 draft. (5/3/10)

I would take Rod and McCaffrey on my team if they were 60. Both of those guys were warriors.

its kind of good thing our legend retired has retired the biggest underdog and by looking at him he looks like he couldnt beat any corner in the nfl,on of the greatest route runners but i hope he still remains a mentor for the bronco wideouts

Cheers to a brilliant career Rod. Id love to see him stay in Dove Valley and with the team as a coach/mentor... but it's his life. He earned and deserves evreything he has and will get.
