Also too MUG will be dropping in from time to time doing draft updates like Mike Mayock. Which by the way MUG is now MUG Mayock (his words not mine).

Breaking news. The first trade of the offseason has taking place. The Philadelphia Eagles have sent the 21st pick overall and CB Lito Sheppard to the Arizona Cardinals for 63rd pick overall and WR Anquan Boldin.

Certainly a trade that makes alot of sense, it was rumored to happen last season, but never matured.

Now, with Bolden wanting to be paid like a #1 and likely losing his Offensive Coordinator and his pass happy system, it makes sense to book it out of town. The Eagles now can use DeSean Jackson as a deep guy, move Curtis to the slot, and have a lethal WR trio. Certainly Donovan McNabb is happy.

As for Lito Sheppard, it's hard to tell if he's lost his talent these last two seasons, or has simply been half-assing it because he wanted out of town. At worst, he should be a small upgrade over Rod Hood, at best, a major upgrade. CB Depth was needed in Arizona though, so it makes sense. Obtaining the 1st Round selection in exchange for the 3rd, makes the talent differential of the two marquee names easier to bear.

    Trade Grade:

    Arizona - A
    Philidelphia - A

Do we also have a specified Pick Value Chart? Ive seen a couple with different numbers, and one for everyone to use would be awesome.

I think Ben Tate will be the best back taken in the 2010 draft. (5/3/10)

In other words the Eagles think part of the problem at Arizona was Sheppard's inability to stop Boldin. But if they really wanted to get a better receiver, why didn't they try to get teammate Larry Fitzgerald?

BTW you do realize picks 63 and 64 are dependent on the Super Bowl result, right? Philadelpia may get #64 instead.

3 cheers for the Edit button and we are talking about a mere 6 points. It's not a deal breaker and can be changed np. Oh and Boldin was held in check during NFC Champ game. 4 catches 34 yards and if you meant Fitzgerald then Asante Samuel was on him most of the game.

When I put Boldin on the block it took all of 30 seconds for the trade requests to pour in. As soon as Philadelphia came knocking I knew exactly who I wanted and they had the pick range I was looking to move down to. Sheppard will take Hood's place opposite DRC. Hood will now become nickel back. Now Arizona's secondary is formidable with probowl SS and All-Pro CB along with promising rookie. This trade leaves me with a ton of options in the first round, which will make it more fun and interesting.
