I'm worried about a very good friend who lives in NYC. She lives in Evacuation Zone C - meaning she hasn't been evacuated. I just hope she will be alright. She was already in a bad situation before this storm even came onto her radar.

Lets all hope that everyone is safe......sure, hit us with rain and wind and whatever else is in the mix, but please leave the folks alone who are within storm's reach.

Here on VA Coast, we are getting pounded pretty good.

Mrs. 100% and I started prep on Wednesday.
Cleaning gutters, get loose items picked up and put away, cleaning gullies, cleaning up some trees, etc..

Have our fuel, water, generator, food, all set up and stockpiled.

We are good for 3-5 days of no power if necessary, but we hope that it doesn't happen.

Right now we are getting 40 mph winds off and on with some bigger gusts. More to come, so stay tuned.

Here's a thought and devoted position, the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They are out in this right now.

Is it wrong of me to entertained by the guys from the Weather Channel getting their butts kicked by the hurricane?

Also on a side note, if Jim Cantore isn't in the Man Hall Of Fame he needs to be.

Well now we have a tree on one side of the property being held up by two other trees. The wind has changed and will determine if it catches the side of the house or takes out the directv. I can deal with the directv dish, but not the house.

We also now have a stream on the other side of the house.

    Stay safe everyone.

Do they ever leave their posts? I remember some bad storms coming through and they were still out there.

    I love those guys.

We have some rain and some wind. I still don't think we'll get it bad here. The coast, yes. Route 50 going into Ocean City flooded last night.

Stay safe, East Coasters! Check in when you can.

A few trees look like they're going to fall overnight; kind of makes me nervous going to sleep tonight, when the worst winds will be steady for up to 12 hours. Not too much rain so far, just wind.

On a side note, I hope all the posters on the East Coast get through the storm ok.
