    The Official Linkin Park Thread

    Hello all.

It came to my attention that there is no official Linkin Park thread on Broncos Country. Un-be-lievable!

I'm going to start one now. Maybe it's 9 years late, but who cares. I've been a really really big Linkin Park fan since 2000, and I can't wait for their new CD.

Their new CD is set to drop in 2010. Details are sketchy right now. Rick Rubin was reenlisted to produce the album (same dude that did Minutes To Midnight). While MTM wasn't my favorite Linkin Park CD, I'm dying for a new one.

It's been almost 3 freakin years since MTM came out. I'm ready.

They've been throwing us fans a few bones here and there (an instrumental entitled "Lockjaw", "New Divide" from Transformers, "No Roads Left", "Across The Line", and "Not Alone" to name a few) that give us a little idea as to what we can expect in the new album.

..........i hope you guys have heard those songs. They're great.

Not to mention the huge amount of tracks Mike Shinoda has produced as of late ("Never Let Me Down" by Kenna, "Resurrection" by Lupe Fiasco, "Death to Analog" by Julien-K, "Gold Guns Girls" by Metric) and the Dead By Sunrise album.

We've been waiting patiently. I want a new CD soon. In the meantime, I'll keep this thread updated with information regarding their new CD, links to exclusive Linkin Park music (just in case you haven't been exposed to it), etc.

Mike Shinoda says new album due "towards the end of the year"

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/163...kin_park.jhtml

    Bummer

By now, you're probably aware that Linkin Park have a new album coming out this year, a challenging "concept record" that features plenty of "grandiose insanity."

But what you may not know is when that album is hitting stores. Well, we do sort of. Because when MTV News caught up with the guys in Linkin Park on the red carpet of Sunday's Grammy Awards, co-frontman Mike Shinoda filled us in on the release date.

"Toward the end of the year, we're going to have a new record out," he said. "It's produced by myself and Rick Rubin."

So there you go the new LP from LP will be out by the end of 2010, which is good news for the band's long-suffering fanbase. Of course, it should be noted that just last year Shinoda's pal Chester Bennington told MTV News that the still-untitled album could be out as early as June, so it would appear the release date is still very much in flux (an e-mail seeking comment from the band's label, Warner Bros. Records, was not returned by press time).

Of course, Linkin Park weren't just at the Grammys to spill secrets about their new album they were also nominated for an award, as a live version of their hit "What I've Done" was up for Best Hard Rock Performance. And though they were honored by the nod, they'd be lying if they said it wasn't a bit surprising.

"This particular nom was a little unexpected for us. It was actually for a live track and when I heard there was a possibility of us being nominated, I thought initially it would be for 'New Divide,' because that was the most recent single," LP bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell said. "But they actually got this off of Road to Revolution, which is the live DVD we did a ways back. ... So when I got the e-mail and read it, I had to do a little double-take."

"Being nominated for a live track in the midst of all these studio tracks is a good feeling," Shinoda added. "It made me a little nervous, because you only get one take when you do a live recording. I don't think there's even that many live tracks nominated this year."

And while LP didn't win the Grammy (it went to AC/DC's "War Machine"), you get the feeling they weren't too bummed. After all, they've got big things on the horizon toward the end of the horizon, that is.

    Oh no you didn't

Please, keep that crap out of here. I don't care if you like them or don't. If you don't, do not post in this thread.

I want to try to keep this thread clean and without conflict.

It's for Linkin Park fans. No bashing.

I haven't decided if I'm excited for the new CD or not.

Hybrid Theory/Meteora Linkin Park is still my favorite band, but I'm afraid the new one will sound like a Chester Bennington and Friends album again.

    I know what you mean.

I really missed the heavy stuff. Not to mention Mike Shinoda's rapping was almost phased out. I don't know why they decided to switch up their style. I loved the songs that had Chester's vocals, Mike's rapping, some sick guitar riffs, awesome drum beats, some sampling and turn-tabling, and the occasional electronica stuff.

Damn Rick Rubin. He made this mess.

I've got a feeling that this new CD might be better. I hope.

I liked "New Divide", but it was still missing the rapping.

U heard of the 8-bit Rebellion video game they're releasing for iTouch and iPhone? Beating the game unlocks a brand new Linkin Park song haha

That was the biggest problem with Minutes to Midnight, no Mike. I hope if that happens again he'll continue with Fort Minor, I need my Mike fix

I hope so too, but I'm going to try and not get my hopes up too much.

"New Divide" sounds exactly like "What I've Done".

Are you going to try and beat it?

If their new CD sounds anything like this, I'll actually be pretty excited:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87kevtzxDkM

This sounds badass, but it is still missing Mike Shinoda.

I agree. I actually liked Fort Minor. Did u ever hear the song "The Hard Way"? That was my favorite Fort Minor track. Unbelievable song.

Yes, I'm going to get 8-bit Rebellion and beat the game so I can unlock the new LP song!

Qwerty is awesome. Classic Linkin Park!

I want more of that, but I doubt it, especially with Rick Rubin back to produce their new record.

When I heard "Given Up", I had the false assumption that it was going to all be similar to it. I like Given Up, but again they're missing Mike Shinoda's rapping. So not cool.

    Shinoda is key: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcRKsu5H97E
