Broncos Sign Tackle D'Anthony Batiste to Future Contract

ENGLEWOOD, Colo -- The Broncos on Tuesday resignd tackle D Anthony Batiste to a future contract.

This is Batiste's second stint with the Broncos, after spending the last two weeks of the 2009 season on the team's practice squad.

Batiste has played in 12 games during his pro tenure, including eight outings last season with the Redskins.

The 6-foot-4, 314-pound tackle started the 2009 season with Washington and was inactive for the first four games before replacing Chris Samuels in the teamís game at Carolina during Week 5. He saw action in the team's next seven contests before being waived on Dec. 15.

Batiste, a four-year letterman at Louisiana-Lafayette, entered the NFL in 2006 as a college free agent with Dallas. He has started four games on the pro circuit.

Knowing McDaniels, Clady and Harris are already gone and Batiste and Polumbus are our starters.

Lulz. I think this was more about addressing depth since when Ryan Harris went down we were awful.

And he, Powell and Moulton were the last 3 guys left on the practice squad without a future contract.

I see.....so are you speculating that Powell won't be signed to a future contract?

    I dunno', that's a good question.

Yes, I mean we signed a 27-year old OT before taking care of Powell, maybe he won't get a chance. Also, I wonder if will keep Baptiste at OT or if we will try to move him to OG when the OTAs come.

I know what you're saying, and I think CPowell deserves another shot too. I followed him a lot back before he got cut and I thought he had a lot of potential coming off his injury.

And it's not like both sides of the line can't use the depth.
