    Camping

We took the kids for their FIRST time this weekend. Two nights and two full days. No electricity. No tv. No PS3 or any of the creature comforts we enjoy on a daily basis.

They LOVED it! They even made it in the total dark in their own tent and at no point did we get tears or once hear "I'm bored".

You guys or gals like camping? Any cool memories from when you were a child and your parents took you?

What tips do you have? Secrets? Any specific piece of gear you want or wish you had??

I love camping. We spend much of our summers camping. Last year we did break down and buy a pop-up camper, no more tents for us. So it's kinda cheating but it's still camping. I'll probably be going camping this upcoming weekend so I can go bow hunting. The following weekend also.

I don't mind camping, but I'd almost rather be at the beach anymore.

We love camping too. We drag a bunch of stuff and have a huge two room tent with screened in porch on it. It takes awhile to set up camp but once that is done, it's sweet. My wife's favorite part is the screened in gazebo where she sets up her kitchen area and it keeps all the bugs out.

We have not had the opportunity nor will get to this year and that bummed us out.

Thats cool, I was actually just up in mirror lake this labor day weekend backpacking with a couple buddies for 3 days. Awesome trails they have up there and so far away from civilization, just you and the mountains cant get any better!

I love camping. We go every summer. Although now that I've gotten older and take my own family I'm finding out that it is a lot of work. Not as fun as when I was a kid. Fishing is another thing that changes when you "grow up". Taking two young boys you spend 75 percent of the time untangling lines and getting them back in the water. But it always seems to be worth it in the end.

Love camping. Go camping/white water rafting annually on the first weekend of August. This year was no exception, even the black bears were cordial. This is also the third year in a row I've bought my fishing license and haven't gone.

We get a fishing license every year for the last 3-4 years, always saying we'll use it more this year…. then never use it more than once or twice it seems, if that.

Kayaking or hiking are my two favorite outdoor activities. I'll admit, I don't spend all my time being active. I enjoy just relaxing at the campsite with a good book, enjoying the fresh air.

Enjoy the outdoors, living in AZ haven't seen the best wildlife…. but that changed last month. I was pretty excited because we saw a wolf while we were camping. Never thought about them being in the area, but I guess the Mexican grey wolf is growing in that area. He stood there staring at us about 50 feet away, kinda creeped me out since just watched "The Grey" a couple months back…. but awesome to see one just the same.

I used to camp all the time. It's too bad that families don't do it more often anymore. My best camping memory was when we went to Wyoming Yellow stone park my dad and I fished in the river close by and I caught a rainbow trout. My dad gutted it, poked a stick through it and I rotated it over the camp fire. I'm telling you that is the best fish you will ever eat if you try it
