Always be a Bronco fan. However if he lets Champ go, I just don't know how much of a Mcdaniels fan I will be.

CHAMP NEEDS TO RETIRE A BRONCO!! He has put the time in, and it's the principle for me! I hope it is for Pat Bowlen!

i dont think i cud support mcdaniels or this front office if they dont keep Champ. He is by far my favorite bronco off all time!! i just dont see myself being as suportive of this McD version of my broncos if he lets champ go. i mean i will always bleed blue n orange but it will be alot harder to watch without #24 here.

I'm not completely certain but, I could have sworn the Head Coach does not negotiate player contracts. Why would people hold McDaniels responsible for this? Geez.

The haters will look for any excuse to crucify McDaniels....

Further more I could care less about his contract there may not even be a football season next year.

I imagine that is on the minds of the Front Office, all I care about is the Baltimore Ravens and how are we going to win this game.

It's too early to tell what will happen. He is just speaking his mind, he thought the contract was there and about to be signed but maybe the Front Office wants to ensure the security of the team with the uncertain CBA before signing an older player to a contract. The NFL is a business, people need to remember that. As much as I love Champ and want him to stay, the team will do what is right for the team, but also the business aspect. You need to keep the books in check and make sure you are getting the best deal for the performance of the players you sign.

I for one will be extremely pissed if he doesn't resign, but cmon.....just wow.
I agree. If this person feels this way then they never were a true fan to begin with.

They're really stupid if they let Bailey go. Does the management even care about winning?

I think this will be an out and out TRAVESTY to let champ walk away. He is easily the most iconic figure to the broncos nation (who aren't apart of the gator nation). Champ is a player you can see gives it 110% on every play and his stats reflect it. Sure he hasn't had the production he did when we got him in the last couple of years....but jesus...he fought off injuries and still had great stats.

If the Broncos let him go I will officially give up on Coach Mcdaniels. Pat Bowlen would just make me shake my head and wonder why. I havent defended mcdaniels or trash talked him, but I have always kept the faith. If he allows champ to go, Ill never be a fan of him. Champ is a player that needs to stay a bronco, regardless of his stats. I can't be the only one to feel this way...he has done so much for the team. I'll always be a fan of champ.....i was a fan back when you could pull him out of free agency in madden and put him on special teams and cause fumbles every 3 kick offs lol. Jeez...that was his rookie or soph season lol

Can't believe that the exact type of player McD wants...tough smart good character skill talented savvy..is the one we won't resign. Champ is everything he says he wants.

I will be very pissed if we let Champ go to another team.

    Trade Champ

There comes a time when you have to be willing to part with the comfortable and embrace the uncomfortable to get better. If you've ever played sports you know what that means.
Champ is in his latter years. It's only a matter of time until we HAVE to unload him. Is that 2 years? Is it 1 year? Is it 3 years? I don't know, but with the team we have now, you'd have to think the only way we will contend for a SB in those next 3 years is improve in several key areas.
    1. Run defense.
    2. Deep ball pass defense.
    3. Run offense.

Perhaps our best chance of getting some quality DLinemen is in a trade. Who better to trade (worth significant compensation) than Champ? The deep ball is probably as simple as getting younger safeties. Probably can do with the draft. And the run offense? We need guards. Better off to trade for them as well - if we can package something....

If we stick with Champ, we'll just see his value drop, his production drop and more 8-8 seasons as he winds down his career.

    Reality.
