Poll: Should number 30 be retired?

I saw a Bronco player wearing number 30 earlier in the year and I was wondering what everyone thought about that. Should Denver retire TD's number?

I would think so, but then again there is a few numbers I feel should be retired.

I'm not full aware of the history of the Broncos, but there could be an argument for a couple of Jerseys that should be retired. My point is, if you retire every jersey who meant a whole lot to the Broncos, then our players will have to wear numbers like: 024, 030 , 007, 056, 080, 084, and so on.

No, his # shouldn't be retired. Unfortunately, Davis did not play enough to garner a retired #.

TD played a significant role in the success of Denver winning two Super Bowls. Not to mention the fact that he was an MVP in SB XXXII.

I would also consider retiring Elams number as well...

Loved the guy, but I don't think it is warranted in this case.

52 other players played a role in Denver winning those Super Bowls as well. I love TD, but he shouldn't have his number retired. Neither should Sharpe, Atwater, etc... The only players who should have their numbers retired right now are Elway, Little and Tripuka, and those are the 3 that do. Hopefully one day we'll have another player deserving of having his number retired for us.

    That Bronco is David Bruton.

I could see TD's # being considered if he made it into the NFL hall of fame. Is he in the Ring of Honor?

Yes, he was inducted into the Ring of Fame in '07.

I once thought that #30 should be retired, but now not so sure. TD was one of the greatest Broncos ever, but if his # is retired then you have to consider retiring guys like Sharpe, Smith, Gradishar, Elam, etc. And with too many players having retired jerseys then it becomes less special to have a number retired.

IMO you only retire the guys who's names are Bronco history.... And TD is definitely that. He was the 90's. He had more to do with the 2 SB championships than anyone. But I dont think that we should just start retiring every number. Elway... yes. TD... Yes Rod... Maybe Sharpe, Atwater...No

I love TD but not sure about his number being retired. He had a short career and a tremendous amount of success.

I would hope to see #80 retired next.

I think Sharpes number should be retired. Sharpe changed the TE position (atleast in this era).

Sharpe retired as the all-time leader among TEs in receptions (815), TD catches (62) and receiving yards (10,060). He's one of five to have a 50-catch season 11 times (Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison, Andre Reed and Jerry Rice). An eight-time Pro Bowler and four-time all pro, he had 19 career games with at least 100 yards receiving. Sharpe held Denver's all-time franchise record for receptions when he retired, but Rod Smith later surpassed him. He is a member of the NFL's 1990s All-Decade Team.

Notable stats: A three-time Super Bowl winner with Denver ('97, '98) and Baltimore ('00), he established the single-game mark for most receiving yards by a TE with 214, set in 2002.

I don't think td number should be retires. If he continued to run over 1500 I would say yes. Too bad his injury shortened his career. Was that griese that threw that pick?

I don't think any number should be retired. There are only so many and pro football should be around for a while.

I love T.D. as much as any Bronco fan, but we can't just retire every Jersey for every great Bronco, those are and should be saved for out of the norm Greats like Elway imo.
