NB your counter point about the attendence for the games is greater then the ones for Tebow does not factor in that for quite a few of the games Orton started we still where a relevant team in our divison. The games Tebow started where when we a punch line. One could argue that had Tebow not played the attendce would have been even lower.

Kyle Orton will be not gone and here is why:

    1) John Fox said that's his QB

    2) John Elway doesn't think Tebow is any good.

    FACT.

Nor did John Fox say that Orton was his end all guy as you are implying.

Fox was asked by the media who the starting Denver Broncos QB was, and he said it was the incumbent Orton.
But then, in a smaller group, Fox was asked what that meant, and Williamson quotes Fox as saying, "I can’t predict Week 1, so it’s today. We’ll see."

Doesn't sound very set in stone to me.

Vice Presidenr Elway said he never said that. So if he never said that how does King know someone elses "PRIVATE TRUE THOUGHTS"? Did he call Miss Cleo?

If Orton goes to another team and plays well, at the end of the season he's a FREE AGENT who they will then have to bid for against every other team in need of a QB. Unless they slap a franchise tag on him which would probably cost even more - for just one more year.

    Where is the "desirability?"
Teams that trade for a player with only a year remaining on his contract usually re-do the contract. That's much easier than dealing with an expensive multi-year contract.

Since we're not re-doing his contract, we're the ones facing the dilemma you speak of. At the end of 2011, Orton is a free-agent. If we choose to re-sign him, he will be expensive. If we choose not to, we got nothing in return for him.

Of course, without a new CBA, we can't really trade Orton. So there's really no point in talking about trading him. Which makes the stance taken by Elway and Fox not all that surprising.
Hoping for a defensive-minded head coach and a return to the ZBS on offense. At the very least, no more cheaters for head coach.

He's desireable (Orton I mean) because this year's QB class is weak, plus teams such as MINN, ARI, & CAR all have young QBs that need mentoring and Orton can do that. Also, except for the 8 million, it's low risk. If it doesn't work, they let him go at the end of the season. If he does well, they can keep him around, as someone else said he's only 28 with not that many miles under him.

Thats all we needed to know for right now. It aint Tebow, so why just up and trade Orton?

Yep, just ignore the rest of the post when yourself said to southstander that since Peter King had dinner with Elway, he has the inside track. But since Fox told the main media that Orton was the starter, but then later told an individual writer that it was still in the air, we must believe the main media comment, right? Contradicting yourself a little bit, aren't you?

C'mon man, at least Neckbeard's debates make sense.

He's missed barely any games for us. 3 quarters in 2009-2010 and even though he was "hurt" IMHO they used that to justify letting Tebow take the reins
