The Under-The-Radar Safety That We Need To Sign In Free Agency

    S Reggie Smith

In 4 season (7 starts), he has compiled 64 tackles, 7 passes defensed, and 2 interceptions.

I know these statistics will not wow you, but Reggie Smith has starting-caliber talent and would be an immediate upgrade at safety.

He's very athletic, a form tackler, smart, and able to play center-field.

He was very experienced and highly productive as a safety and cornerback at Oklahoma and has had sufficient time to develop in San Francisco.

It would be a low-risk, high-reward value signing because he won't command a big contract.

Watch out for Reggie Smith in free agency, guys. I'll definitely be throwing around the "I told you so" this time next year

FA Targets: DT Jason Jones, DT Pat Simms, S Reggie Smith, LB Dan Connor

He's move a coverage guy, and I think we need more an in box guy. He is excellent in coverage though.

    We need Dirty 30.

I think we got a chance at him, injury history might affect what he gets. And it's been reported that Denver wants a box safety.

If we get him, our FA will be a success, guy's awesome.

I completely agree, but I think we should give Carter and Moore one more year to develop. It's not easy playing in the NFL at age 21, and Carter's coverage skills started to improve late in the season and in the playoffs.

And we have players capable. They just need developing. We don't have a thumper if Dawkins retires.

You guys don't give enough credit to Reggie Smith for his physicality and tackling. It's not all about weight.

Reggie Smith can thump, make no mistake about it.

Smith is a solid option, worth pursuing. I personally prefer Craig Steltz though if we're looking at under-the-radar safeties.

Wouldn't hate the move if we got him.

Don't know much about him to be honest.

They talked about Landry on NFL radio. every one of them to a person are scared to death of him because of those pics. they made comments that the drug tester should have been at his door at 6 am the morning after the pics came out. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

I wouldn't be worried, he's always been jacked. He just took the pics flexing, super up close. Made him look bigger than he is. Doubt he's mire than 5 lbs over his playing weight. He's never failed a piss test before, he knows what he's doing.
