    Tyrann Mathieu Dismissed from LSU

LSU dismisses All-American defensive back Tyrann Mathieu

The Honey Badger won't be making an appearance for LSU this fall.

Tigers coach Les Miles announced Friday defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team policy.

Mathieu was one of the top playmakers for the Tigers during last year's undefeated regular season and adopted the Honey Badger moniker as part of his flashy style.

He shined on both defense and kick returns on his way to finishing fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.

Mathieu was suspended for one game against Auburn last season for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Media reports indicated Mathieu failed a drug test.

He returned the following week to play at No. 1 Alabama in a game the Tigers won on their way to the BCS title game.

Pretty shocking news. He's been one of my favorite college players to watch over the last 2 years and I was hoping the Broncos might be able to snag him in next year's draft. Now.... ehh. I think I'll pass. It's so crazy that all these top flight talents like Mathieu and Isiah Crowell (the ex-Georgia RB) keep screwing up so badly.

Wow, I didn't think Les Miles would have the stones to do something like that. I guess the NCAA is finally starting to get their point across with the penalties handed out to some of the bigger programs over the last few years. (Ohio St., USC, Penn St.)

Janoris Jenkins went from the 1st round to the 2nd

Honey Badger already has a bigger reputation then Jenkins and he can obviously ball.

even if he didnt screw up the kid is only 5-7 - 5-8 MAX 175 lbs

no way hed be a first round pick as a CB, some team will likely take a flyer on him as but a KR/PR kinda like hester, thats his value in the NFL with the size of these receivers now a days

This guy is apparently in "rehab" for pot addiction..

Lol at him trying to save face by throwing pot under the bus. It wasn't pot that screwed your career, it was your stupid decision to do it.

Yeah, I agree. If you want to stop smoking pot just stop. I cant blame him for trying to save his reputation, but nobody is really going to buy it. Its a move (and a smart one) in an attempt to save face.
